What gives.US is sending N610AU back to leasing and I hear 2 more 757's are going with her. When US is so tight for aircraft why would they not try to keep them?

IFIC, it was the leasor's choice to not renew the leases on these 3 757s. It was negotiated during one of the bankruptcies.
Are these options? Are these confirm orders with deliver dates?And, don't forget there is an order for 321s and 320s for later this year (or maybe early 2008).

With Parker trying to spend tons of cash on merging, why not put it towards new aircraft. I know they have some on order but they need them now. Why not order some 767-300ER's? Wouldn't need much to train as for US operates the 200's.IIRC, these are firm orders - but I believe they are not due until 2008.

It wouldn't make any sense to acquire any new/used aircraft until the fate of the DL merger is known, which shouldn't be much longer. If it's a go-ahead, then there will be many widebodies to supplement the fleet.....
It would be wise to carry extra W/B's. What makes more sense, 1 W/B flight compared to two A319 flights. I am saying this IF they had extra W/B's. How long do you expect travelers to deal with those 757's on TA service? And I made the statement that the Merger shouldn't happen and was implied as a single US entity.Which won't be running PHL-PHX.
