What's new

New Destinations for 2008

More murders in all the nation I believe.

Yes and Nutter appointed a guy who defended a cop killer as well as a host of other murderers as deputy mayor of public safety. Looks like he is getting off to a great start. 🙄

The gate situation is a problem. PHL's answer thus far has been "REMOTE gates" however passengers hate them, crew hate them, everybody hates them. They add, no lie, another 45 minutes to the arrival. Then, they attach you to a gate that doesn't have an escalator, just stairs. It's amazing the walls don't melt from the cursing.

So what you are saying is doing remote gates is right up Tempe's alley - piss off everyone involved - seems to be pretty much the only thing they are good at.

How many threads are the pseudo comedy crowd going to pollute with the CRJ multi stop international or B1900 with inflight refueling or Dash8 with drop tanks. It was funny the first go around not the 7th. If you don't have an answer to the post and must entertain us with your wit, at least be original.

THANK YOU!!! I was thinking the same thing. Why is it every question gets a lot of smartass negative comments? I am SOO sick of the commuter flying to XYZ with multi stops. Wasn't that origianlly posted 10 years ago ?

The problem of the PHL international gates is blown out of proportion. IMHO, any other airline management team would have no problem running the US international schedule out of PHL with the number of gates US has. US needs more smart/capable management, not more gates.

Amen,

"Galley Show" leakage is everywhere.

More senseless drive by posts, leaving behind unsuspecting dead topics.

What would a good lawyer tell their client?

If you don't have anything worth saying, wait until you do.

Hmmmm...well the airline started heading to the crapper 2 years ago after the merge, so I guess that's not considered new....

Started? heh...that's hilarious. You guys were circling in the toilet bowl with seconds left right before this marriage. If it wasn't for this "merge" you'd already be bitching at your next employer. 🙄

Got anything nice to say about him? or anybody for that matter...

Your actually right. They could run two banks instead of one for international flights. Several flights should leave around 4:00 to 5:00 PM with another round around 7:00 to 8:00 PM and for some real long hauls like India you could leave around 10:00 making almost 3 banks of international departures. You could also have Asian departures around noon like ANA, United, etc have from the east coast.

JetMonkey - Yeah, you got it right. That's why we survived TWO C-11's. JetMonkey. Go get your backpack and black tennis shoes and get to work. Your Mesa mentality is showing.

If this airline was going to go away it would have done so long ago with or without a merger with a two bit outfit in Arizona. The money guys say when it shuts down. Someday you'll figure it out. Maybe when you get rid of your backpack and figure out what it is you do for a living.

But after coming from a background like Mesa and AWA I understand your ignorance.

So you really think I came from Mesa huh? that's pretty funny  , I'll give ya that much. Hell, even way back when I was just an instructor I knew not to go there. What's even more comical is that if anyone says anything remotely positive they're immidiately pegged as a "kool-aid drinker". Trust me I have no love for this merger, or Parker. What I do get ruffled up about is when someone points at AWA for any misfortune that happened to USAir. The east was nothing more than a for sight living on borrowed time. Everyone on the east has unfortunately forgotten about that. Would you've cared to see what was behind door number 2? And one last thing, this airline started out with 3 planes and grew to be the 8th biggest in the country. With bankruptcy, high fuel prices, low yields because of being in the shadow of Southwest the whole time (which USAir never had to deal with until the late 90's) they were a true survivor, the exact word I used during my interview. If that's a two bit outfit then I'll take that over an arrogant group that had difficulty surviving with the whole lucrative east coast at its disposal any day.

Your ignorance regarding this industry, as well as US Airways history, is there for all to see in that post. Along with you spelling ability and use of complete sentences.

Someday you will figure it out. Bottom line is that you really need to start understanding who controls things in this industry. Who it is that decides who fails or who doesn't. Do you honestly think the merger would have happened if the money guys didn't want it to happen. It has nothing to do with pilot groups, pay givebacks, seniority lists, career expectations, fuel, yields or anything you or I deem important.

And just so you know, All American Aviation started with 1 plane and an airmail contract. After you do some research on how that turned into the piece of crap company you now work for then you can lecture me on what a two bit airline is or isn't.

Now go get a real pair of shoes, throw away your backpack, leather jacket with epaulets and sunglass lanyard and start acting like a professional airline pilot. You owe what you do for a living to the men who came before you. You and your Mesa/AWA counterparts need to understand you have to keep the profession for the guys that come after you. Not to turn it into a free for all throwing out seniority and other pilots because of your selfish interests and "career expectations".

Oh yeah, one more point, do you have any idea when PSA merged with US Air and who we were competing with on the west coast? Do some research before you make posts you know nothing about.

Attention Folks, USAIRWAYS is proud to announce new nonstop nonservice flight to Tel Avive Israel.
However we will be making a few stops for fuel and if you wish to grab a bite to eat you may do so but please remember we are parked out on the ramp due to no jet way for the CRJ aircraft!! 😀 😛 😉 🙄

LOL Knowing our marketing dept its prob true!
