Henri Dawes has accepted another position with the company and John Romantic is the new Director of Customer Relations. I'm not personally aquainted with him but I know he has been around for awhile and is well thought of. Best wishes to Henri in her new position.

Wow, a new customer relations director? I hope Henri shared her secrets for remaining at the bottom of the customer service rankings all these years. Remember mediocre would put us in the middle of the line up. You have to work hard to maintain a place at the bottom.

Well maybe he can do something in this dept. that Doug and no one else has been able to do....

This airline is in a sad state of affairs.....

"This is Round 44 in our Worst Company in America contest, US Air vs Microsoft!"

"USAir is probably the poster child for the sorry state of affairs in American-run airlines. They're essentially a rush-hour subway car that flies."

I know JR and have always liked him. I worked for him as a supervisor when he was the head of Customer Service at the PHX hub.

I haven't seen him in years, but I remember him always being truthful and professional. Based on my past workings with him I think this is a good hire and hopefully he will get the opportunity and tools to do some good things.

Nice enough guy, most of the time. Smart.

I hope by now he has gotten over his "It worked perfectly for the per-merger West so it must be the only possible answer" mentality. Otherwise, he's doomed.

That crap doesn't fly in a global customer relations setting.

US Airways only operates in a tiny little section of the globe. Don't go getting all "global" on us.

Gotta be prepared to address Star Alliance stuff. Last I checked they were fairly "global, " not just PHX-YUM.

I know Henri personally, and spoke to her on a regular basis. I am surprised to learn that she is leaving that position.

The job she had was a thankless one, and she had big shoes to fill--it's hard to follow someone like Deborah Thompson. I think that although she couldn't admit it, Henri understood FFOCUS' point of view, and perhaps agreed with some of it....and we know that the mantra in the Sand Castle is "we're right, you're wrong, and we know better".

I wish her all good things, and if anyone knows where she is going please let me know, if not here, via PM.

This is a loss, for US Airways, AND the customer.

My BEST to you all....

From what I understand, she is staying with US Airways and taking her old position back in Training.

I agree with Piney - this does not pass the "smell test". Henri is a good person, saddled with a tough job and leadership (very loosely stated) that still thinks they are running a 13,000 employee regional airline. I know that she has been frustrated for quite some time and blocked in her attempts to make a change for the better. I wish her nothing but the best and am sure she will sleep much better now.

But, so goes it at the new US - would love to know how much money has been spent getting rid of "free thinkers" since the merger. JR is a good guy - but certainly not Deborah Thompson or even close to what that group needs. Expect more of the same.

"US Airways is just sad. I have a friend who had been with America West since its inception, who is deeply unhappy at how bad things are now. He can't understand how, in the merger, US Airways' business model and policies prevailed over those of AW. Supposedly AW was doing well financially at the time, and customers were pretty happy with the airline.

What? ARE THEY FU**ING KIDDING ME? It was HP that adopted their business model not the US Air model...Lies...All of it Lies!

I like the part about doing well financially....
