NMB is expected to award a vote for TWU representation this week for 39 Airport Customer Service Instructors.
Originally, 23 Customer Service Instructors petitioned the NMB for TWU Representation. US Airways management responded that the Fleet Service Instructors must be included. TWU and Customer Service Instructors agree and now we have modified the petition to include the 16 Fleet Service Instructors. We expect a vote from the NMB since we had a huge amount of cards signed. It should have been the Fleet Service Instructors choice, not the companies.
This is a management group that the Airport Customer Service Department decided to reorganize and let 2 great, dedicated managers and a very senior instructor go from the company in July. They were very well respected system wide. This just happens to be the person that was in competition with the current director for that position. Good way to protect yourself from the competition. LOL
The senior manager that was sent in to replace them was demoted from director of Customer Relations for not being able to perform. Hmmm....... Maybe the person that made this decision should have been demoted also.
This senior manager has caused turmoil in the group. She hires only West employees and is very unprofessional. You should see the emails this management team sends out. Guess who ever made this decision should be fired too. The employees see her as trying to eliminate all East. The East just happens to be the senior instructors. This looks as if this is the new normal for reorganization. Get all east employees out of management positions.
This is the same tactic US Airways used when they merged with Piedmont back in the 80's. Look how long it took them to recover from that mistake. Guess, this new management team is no brighter than the ones they replaced.
I understand no-one in upper management has even asked why a management group would go union. Guess this is the beginning of Middle-Management Organization at US. Long overdue.
