is it me or are the new black canvas emergency manual binders too big. soon we are going to have to carry flight bags like the pilots do. i mean they are nice looking but they are extremely too big.

True. However, the only place RSV's have to worry about carrying it.....is to the OPR table. 😉

Are you from West? We have had those things on East for years and it's a pain in the butt. I thought they were blue...maybe we are all getting new ones.

We are all getting new manual binders east and west. I hate to hear that they are too big. I was excited after seeing the pictures and that they zip closed.

From what I am hearing we have to carry Policies/Procedures which will go in there along with the Emergency Manual...like it done on the West. Actaully, I think their PNP is part of their IOM (FAEM East).

It actually wouldn't be a bad thing since everyone seems to be doing their own thing. But damn, that will be heavy!!

I am from the East as is Etops, but I have NO idea what you are talking about. We have never had a zippered canvas bag for our flight attendant manual. We have a navy blue ringed binder. If you chose, you can have a small velcro canvas cover? Etops is correct, this thing is Huge. And they are mandatory!

Would it not make more sense to have 1 or 2 per airplane stored onboard in a secure location rather than having to have crews drag them all over the place?
Is it an FAA issue or company issue that this couldnt be done?

I just saw the pics of the new manual and I like the holder alot. The handle gets a  !
On the RARE occassion I do one days, this will be great! Thanks inflight...very good move.

The only way this would work would be to have a manual for each jumpseat on the aircraft. We actually each carry a manual because if we do have an emergency, we are instructed to actually READ from the manual as a way of not forgetting anything and to make the preperation smoother.

Half the time the company cant get the correct movies onboard at the beginning of the month, mustless proper updated manuals.

I prefer to have one per person.

What's a one day?

A one day is defined as a futuristic term used by a US Airways reserve noting the time that they might get to be a dinosour block holder. EX: One day when I am 60, I too will be able to hold a line of International or Domestic flying.

TOO FUNNY!!! I had a block of one days in July just because the blockholder commuted and din't want to drive everyday to CLT. Best month of flying I ever had. ..Can't wait till 60!!

They are functional and classy looking. Same material and color as your roller board flight/gadget bag. Inside pocket, zip closed and a handle. Can grab and go for a one day....clip to the outside of your rollerboard using the handle and don't have to take my flight/gadget bag to put it in unless I want to. Some body did a great job with this.

I just picked up my new manual binder on my 3day trip I just did. While it's nice it's HUGE! ! ! ! My god it should come with wheels. You could pack a pair of panties and a toothbrush and make it your 2day bag. I had to eat some of my food to make the sucker fit.
