They must teach this stuff in Airline (mis) Management 101 somewhere...First, buy the planes and the parts. Sell the parts at a profit - looks good on paper, no? Oh-Oh, parts in planes malfunction, need replaced. Oops, no parts....wait, let's buy em from the guy we sold em to! Really expensive? No problem, as long as more parts in planes don't break.....wait, they ARE? Time to get rid of the planes! Maybe we can sell them to the guy we sold the parts to....
Sometime in my lifetime I'd like to experience airline management that had 'operating an airline' as a primary goal.
