Word in PIT is it is staying in the soon-to-be isolated town of Pittsburgh. It will take eight hours to get management here if there is a major problem...LOL. Does the FAA have any problem with distance from headquarters?

I would say no.
Don't forget that Crystal city was not next door to PIT, especially during that superstorm of the early 90s.

Ok, PIT is pretty much a given, given the fact that certain managers have told their employees over the last week.

Perhaps HQ wont be far behind!

I can see it now...."Ambridge base USAirways...."

HOORAY!!! I hope it stays in PIT that means FA scheduling moves to PIT and maybe the FA's out west will finally be treated like human beings. Plus, the ops folks in PIT actually KNOW how to deal with bad weather.......finally someone in the sandcastle made the RIGHT decision!!!!

Hey it usually takes 8 hours for our customers to make connections through PHL but that hasn't stopped them from severely overloading the airport with flights now has it.........

Not if Mike Finn remains Mgr. of Crew Scheduling. Where do you think his Crew Schedulers get their contempt for F/As?

If he has such contempt for f/a's, why would he marry one??

I think it just boils down to east scheduling being a bit more professional. And even at that, they're not perfect.

I think your referring to John P who is the manager of flight crew scheduling. His wife is a PIT flight attendant. Mike Finn is the director and I think based out of PHX?
You think the East schedulers treat us well? Unless you have block holder on your name they dispense with the niceties and most can be downright rude.

J.P. too is married to an f/a, as is the manager of system sched. All three of them married "up", lol

As for being rude....bust 'em have tapes pulled. Management doesnt review tapes unless requested, so they dont know how schedulers are talking to crew members. It should be run more like rez, double jack and listen in on occasion.

I think our schedulers are just fine here on the east. Now this is just my opinion BUT it seems that over the last year they have been overly nice. I don't do anything to really work the system and can tell when I'm getting shafted for the most part. When I'm called I know what I'm legal for and know how to read the contract (with an attorney) One in particular (Georgia) seems to be a LOT nicer to f/a's. We had it out a few times. Now the OCC staying in PIT would be a smart idea considering their experience with bad weather etc. With all that has happened in PIT though it kind of makes many including myself find it hard to believe that they'd the OCC there. Hopefully they will realize that it's a heavy east operation with much more active weather.

Georgia nice? Didn't think that was possible.

 I know.... Hard to believe huh? Someone MUST have had a talk with her. She's usually nice to me. I joke around with the schedulers a lot though. I am sure some F/A's can be really hard to deal with on the flip side. Working with some, imagine trying to be the scheduler who's only trying to do their job.
