New Philadelphia Base Director

Wow they got Dave Witworth to come back. He is a class act and I hope he can turn Philadelphia around. Interesting all these people from NWA, Dave left inflight in CLT to go there I think. Something has to be done in PHL, he was great when I was in CLT. well respected with the flight attendants.
Dave is a class act. I just hope they give him the freedom to get things done the way they should be.

If working under the "Shambles" umbrella, don't get your hopes too high. We (especially on the West) have seen time and time again that anyone that garners respect from the Flight Attendant workforce is not in their position for very long.

Sherri hates Flight Attendants, she hates AFA and she will take the axe to anyone who has the support of the Flight Attendant group. This is a known and proven fact.

Sherri will look you straight in the eye and tell you AFA and Management should join hands and sing Cumbaya but her actions say just the opposite. And no one has told the fools that actions speak louder than any words. Reading this Sherri? Well, swirl that wine glass a little harder. It certainly makes you look very intellectual. 😉

Dave was highly respected by flight attendants and the supervisors while he was in CLT. The f/a group was very upset to see him leave. I never heard anyone say anything bad about him. They would often go over their supervisor's head directly to him with a problem because he would get you a correct answer.

He left CLT because it was risky having all their eggs in one basket from what I was told which basically was a smart move. Now he has even a more well rounded experience.

Hopefully you're wrong about Ms Shamblin because IMO one of the keys to turning US Airways into a high value, high profit place to work is tearing down the walls between management & labor.

Believe me, I wish I was wrong but have witnessed her behind-the-scenes behavior first hand. Too many horror stories to count around here. I am sure other America West FAs would testify to this as well.

Demonstrating Credibility and building Trust is a very important component of highly successful companies and there is no place for managers who despise their subordinates.

No place except the mid-level management positions and upper echelons of US Airways.

BEACHBOY YOUR THE ONE THAT OUTED DAVE.....I SAID PARTNER AND I LEFT HIS PERSONAL LIFESTYLE OUT........I JUST BROUGHT UP THAT HE LEFT USAIRWAYS TO GOTO LOWES AND HOW IT WAS LEFT OFF HIS RESUME AND THE PRESS RELEASE.

THE FACT THAT MR. DAVE HATES TO FLY IS A KNOWN FACT.

THE FACT THAT HE RAN CHARLOTTE, IS WHAT YOU REMEMBER THINK BACK TO WHY HE LEFT................

NO MUD SLINGING HERE I KNOW WHY HE LEFT.

AS FAR AS PINEYBOB COMMENT HE NEEDS TO DO A LITTLE MORE REASEARCH........THE FACT IS MR DAVE WAS HIRED OUT OF COMPANY POLICY MUCH LIKE VICTORIA IN TRAINING DEPARTMENT HAS BEEN DOING...........

THIS IS GONNA BE FUN TO WATCH HOWEVER SINCE HE HAS DIRECTOR STATUS IF HE FAILS HE WILL LEAVE A WELL OFF MAN BUT THEN AGAIN I GUESS ITS BETTER THAN THE JOB HE LAST HELD

Lover? That was really tacky. Dave's personal life is just that. His longtime partner is none of anyones concern. Dave's record speaks for itself and is proven. It must scare some people that someone old school is about to enter the building. Dave from what I understand likes things done a certain way. He is by no means unreasonable but is not going to put up with the current mess and inept proceedures ruling PHL. This is going to be fun to watch.
I will second that! Dave is the best person to take the lead in PHL inflight in a long time...he will do VERY well he has the support and backbone to make PHL the best base in the system...those not happy with this move should get to RCT/TRN and dust off your RSV handbook...we have a true leader in the house that will not put up with silly BS and games...it's about time...Dave thanks for taking on PHL!!!

LOL.... Have we heard what the 'lifestyle' is yet? Is it the rich and famous? Retirement living? Farm livin? Parrotheads? Some people really need to get out more and stop making other people's lives more exciting and different than than they really are... LOL.

I heard Sherri Shambles has a husband... oh my god I wonder what her 'lifestyle' is!

Yes she does, he works for US too. Don't know his title but is has something to do with overseeing ramp ops in multiple field stations...I think. I'm sure someone on here knows more specifics. Not sure if he shares her love of horses or not. 😛 Others have implied in the past that he is why Ms. Shambles has been able to "climb" the corporate ladder as high as she has and when Mule was here he loved her, she could do no wrong. So, that and a course in "human resources" from Western International University (aka correspondence school) will get you a VP slot at the "NEW" US Airways. 🙄

Folks,

This is getting off on a tangent, and if it continues along those lines, no good can come of it.

Please return to the actual topic at hand and refrain from discussing lifestyles, etc. People's personal lives have no bearing on the issue, except as a side mention as a reason for changing jobs, etc...and in the context this was presented, it is no one's business.

And Airportman, please refrain from typing in caps--it is considered rude and like "yelling" on the boards.

No more warnings....

Thank you.
