What's new

new PHL crewroom opens tomorrow (3/16) at 9am!

Yes, the west PILOTS have a very nice crew room in PHX, complete with TV's, full size lockers, showers, computers just for internet access, couches, recliners etc.

The FA's don't. We have a check-in room with small round tables and chairs on one side of the room where we check-in and brief. The other side of the room has check-in computers. The inflight bubble is in that room too. Now, we do have a hot reserve/crew break room with 3 or 4 really disgusting broken recliners and a few couches. The area is small. When you lift the cushions on the couches you can see all the bugs (silverfish are what they are called, I think).

That is simply tragic!! Well feel free to come visit in PHL. And not worry about the couches trying to eat you!

I wish we could but have been told by some supes on the West that we are not allowed in your crew rooms and it is impossible to obtain the entry codes from any supervisor out here. Only a few FAs are willing to divulge the number to those of us in uniform with proper ID.

Are you serious? Regardless of "collective bargaining agreements" PHX based f/a's work for USairways just like anyone else. EVERYONE can use each others crew rooms. I have been in the room in PHX a few times. I also have personally met a few PHX based f/a's in the old crew room when they were looking for a place to puff. Wow management will do anything to keep the wedge betwen "east" and "west" going huh? 🙄

Yes they will...almost seem hellbent on it, as a matter of fact. Fortunately, I have made numerous friends from the East Coast bases and they have provided me with the codes necessary to enter the "forbidden zone"!

Now it's not forbidden, they've been putting out Must Reads for system wide on the status of the new PHL crew room... in fact you can get any crew room door codes from the CSC(crew service center) in PHX and actually PHX crew room has Cat Crew access for east F/As on most computers in the check-in room... there are yellow stickers on the monitor indicating "CatCrew Access" and from what I know is Maestro is avail. on some computers in BOS,PHL,CLT,DCA crew rooms so it is like travelpro said use for any mainline US Airways crew remember regardless of base.

Of course, I should consider the source of who told me this. (Hint-First name)...sang "Happy Birthday" to JFK. (Second Hint-Last name) The light coating of stuff that accumulates on your grass and garden plants if the temperature hovers around 32 degrees Farenheit.

If you asked this person what day of the week it was the reply would probably be "I don't know!"

However, an earring larger than a Quarter and a hemline that is half a millimeter above the prescribed limits can be spotted from twenty paces by this individual with a DNRA to quickly follow!

I would make USAPA the wedge. We are working hard on taking care of that problem. There should be a solution in May.

I don't think the pilot issue has anything to do with the flight attendants using each others crew rooms. Now as far as east and west pilots using each others crew room is another story. So anway, as for f/a's we can use any mainline crew room around the system. There are improvements to be made around the system to crew rooms but from my personal experience the PHL crew room was absolutely HORRIBLE. I'm glad the new one is done. Come say hi.

Did my Distance Learning down there yesterday. Looks pretty nice!

Uh- oh, we have some bad apples out there, do we?

I've walked into the PHX crew lounge many times (when we had separate uniforms, I was easily recognizable!), and people in PHX would literally come up to me, talk, show me where the East computers were, showed me the room with the couches, etc, all very nice and welcoming. Hate to hear that people are making it hard for you. I'm hoping that will dissipate....

Very, very few bad apples! We have our share over here, too. Because most of our PHL trips are overnights, we usually only have time to go visit our fellow peeps on delays or any irregular ops that require a long sit. I hope to see the new digs soon!

I had both experiences with PHX. One time was very welcome and then the other time, yikes. I guess PHX briefs at tables with little flags as to the destination. I am sitting there and this gal comes up asking if I was going to Mexico or something. I responded no and went back to my bids. 2 min later this other gal comes up....excuse me but are you going to ****? I said no....sorry I am East. (my uniform might be the tip off) Well, the room was not full and plenty of other tables. She grabs the flag off the table and storms off in a huff. I see her plant the flag down on an empty table and they crew assembles to brief. I gathered my stuff and was like....oh hell no. I have enough of this crazy #### in PHL A West. I am outta here.

How freaking funny.I was on that trip with you before I transfered. You ran down those steps so fast it was a riot. Told you not to go up there.

Ok well ya all know it wouldn't take Debbie long to put a little sunshine into the topic. Here goes....The crew room has been in the works for HOW long now? So long ago that man still didn't walk upright. Keeping in mind the new crew room is a MAJOR improvement over the old WHY could they not put color on the walls or don't gasp......a picture. I mean it is gray on gray on white. I don't really mean to sound negative but with all the delays I don't see how the tv's were not installed or color added to the walls. Ya walk in and you feel as if a nurse is going to escort you to draw blood. It looks so sterile that the crew service center looks like the nurses station. As crazy as I am I thought I was going to be fitted with a straight jacket. AAAAHAHAHAHA

Travel,

Remember the trip we flew when we had the 2 hour sit after DFW!? We got on our laptops in the terminal and were chastised for being in uniform on the computer by the West crew?....LOL "Maybe you should move that upstairs in the crew room". We took a step back because we were not sure what they were tying to do....we grabbed each other and screamed. Like the Borg trying to assimilate...... We said BUZZ OFF.
