How are trips awarded to reserves? Trips are awardes by credit order, lowest to highest.

Is it a short/long call system? Is there a pay difference? We have both long and short call reserves and there is no pay difference.

what are the penalties to the company if they assign reserves trips on days off? There is no penalty. If we need to assign a trip to a pilot on a DO or MOVABLE DAY the pilot gets a GOLDEN DAY in return. Scheduling cannot assign a trip that would schedule a pilot into a GOLDEN DAY.

What are the rules for commuting on reserve? Reserves must be in domilcile for the start of their reserve shift. If the reserve pilot if commuting while his/her reserve shift has started and is assigned a trip and does not return scheduling's call within 10 minutes then a UC, unable to contact, is placed on their line and they are taken off of reserve for the day with loss of credit.

How are pay guarantees affected by flying on holidays or days off? Flying on holidays is no different from flying on a regular day.

The only thing I've ever heard about the West reserve system is that you have to check with scheduling at the end of your trip to see if they want to use you more that day. The East guys typically CANNOT be used more that day, and don't need to check with anyone. Even that detail could be in error, as no one has ever offered to clear up any misconceptions. On the west we can add flying to a reserve pilots line. The pilots can either call crew scheduling or check Maestro to see if anything has been added to their trip.

I think you mean to say that the East pilots have been banging their heads into walls for 4 years. Nic. isn't going anywhere. As long as AOL feels like suing you guys(a certainty) it's alive as can be. Nothing has transpired in the Last 4 years go give anybody on the East ANY confidence that they can simply abandon the Nic and virtually staple ALL the West pilots. Nothing. In fact, the Addington conviction would give a normal person pause....but then again...we're talking about a group of pilots that have somehow turned Misery into a fetish. It seems to be all that fuels some of you.

I don't care if you have 35,000 pilots and the West has 170. It's irrelevant. The nic was a result of a voluntary, neutral process. Not the USAPA method of Dictating all the terms to the minority. Do you REALLY think that's how it works in America? There is no room for interpretation. Regardless of whatever snake oil du jour $e$ham is pushing.

You're not going to see a contract for years. Who cares? Probably the foodstampers i guess.

Don't forget your distance learning. Just because you don't get paid for it doesn't mean you don't have to do it.

Are the pilots in section 6 negotiations with the company? I thought under the RLA, negotiations have to start with section 6 before mediation arbitration PEB and self-help

Addington is the only reason for the D.J. action. The company is scared. They should be. USAPA is scared that's why they're fighting so hard NOT to hear the simple answer. Common sense would dictate that if you were so confident in your position, and your place within the Law, you'd be running to court. USAPA is face down, fingernails buried in the ground being dragged back into court carving furrows and shouting incoherently through the Sobs. AOL is calm. Cool. Collected.

Here comes the classic and perpetual DFR threat, backed by reference to a jury trial sent to the 9th remanded, then clean slated. Even Wake cleared it.
