A person goes thru security,then heads over to the gift shop and buys a minature tube of toothpaste and a small bottle of mouthwash, then runs into the restroom and shoves the stuff down their underpants or socks, then heads over to their departure gate and boards their flight... Now what...

You know, I've thought of doing EXACTLT what you propose, just to outsmart the TSA goons (except I'd pick toothpaste and deodorant as the two 'essentials'). But I also assumed that the TSA must be at least smart enough as to have already ordered all airport merchants beyond the sterile area to remove all such items from their inventories.
But then, assuming the TSA has any brains is probably a poor assumption...

I had to check all of my luggage, my liquids, and my cell phone coming from London.

Just curious..what do f/as do with multiple legs per day, plane changes and gate changes? Are the bids being reworked to "stay with the plane". 4 day trip, no make-up, no tooth paste, no deodorant, could be interesting. And I wonder what they are going to do when a baby gets ill because parents had to open a bottle of formula, breaking the sterile seal. Another good reason to nurse...great container, right temp, ready supply, and security can't take it away from you.

I have no idea what they are doing with FAs on multiple legs. I worked the one flight home from LHR and, gladly, am home until the 26th.

I assume they will all have their collective doo doo together by then and will have a consistent plan in place.

Did I say no airport screening? I don't agree with putting a group people under a special microscope, terrorizing those people in the hopes of getting a few extremists.

The UK got the latest group from a tip from the public and used the courts to get permission to eavesdrop and tail. How different from our government. Who was also warned about a plot and simply choose to ignore it.


Its a very short road from their freedoms disappearing, to mine and everyone else's as well. Exchanging Liberty and freedom for safety doesn't work. It never has. There will always be needing more from us. Before you know it, there is none left to take.

Its has never worked over the course of time. It will not work now. You simply cannot single out a group people, and what ever you use to classify them. Keep them as sub standard.

Comparing the courts here and in the UK is night and day, Mikey.

Here, they're more concerned with doing what's politically correct and appeasing to the ACLU and public opinion than they are about interpreting the real intent of the Constitution and law.

In the UK, they are not afraid to make a decision based on the merits of the argument and the intent of the underlying laws.

The ACLU has done a great job as an additional check in preserving our freedom from oppressive government.
