No Luv For Bush Regime?

"Meet the Fockers"

A Washington state woman intends to press a civil-rights case against Southwest Airlines for booting her off a flight in Reno after fellow passengers complained about a message on her T-shirt.

Lorrie Heasley, of Woodland, Wash., was halfway home on a flight Tuesday that began in Los Angeles, wearing a T-shirt with the pictures of President Bush, Vice President Dick Cheney and Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice and a phrase similar to the popular film, Meet the Fockers.

Allen Lichtenstein, lawyer for the American Civil Liberties Union in Nevada, said Heasley’s T-shirt is “protectedâ€￾ political speech under the Constitution. The real issue, he said, is that the airline allowed her to wear the shirt onboard and then objected only when people complained.

“That they changed rules in the middle of a flight simply because someone didn’t like it and it might be problematic,â€￾ he said.

Yep. Unfortunately, it's an axe that's unable to construct a coherent sentence, thus making the axe-wielder seem like a total moron...

I'm going to call on you to substantiate your comments with facts. Here's your chance to establish credibility as a rational person vs. being perceived as no more than an emotional whiner. In particular I'd like to hear about SWA being "killers" to get free air time.

When you're done, you can try to explain how "customer friendly" these AWA/USAirways practices are compared to the airline you have chosen to degrade:

-- Your airline charges $40 to escort unaccompanied minors (ages 5-14). (SWA charges no fees.)
-- Your airline charges $100 to change reservations. (SWA charges no fee.)
-- Your airline closes the doors 5 minutes prior to scheduled departure time. (SWA will board passengers up to the departure time.)
-- Your airline may cancel the passengers reservation if they are not present at the boarding gate at least fifteen (15) minutes prior to scheduled departure time, even if the passenger has already checked-in for the flight at a place designated for check-in (i.e., a ticket counter, web check-in, kiosk, etc.). (SWA waits until 10 minutes prior to scheduled departure time before giving seats to standby passengers.)
-- Your airline's seats on the 737 are pitched at 30-32.0" with a width of 17.2" according to www.seatguru.com. (SWA's 737-300 seats are installed with a 32.5" pitch and 17.5" width)

I think the basic premise here is the adage about glass houses and stones.

Good luck with the merger.

MGA707 NO I just type so fast.. so little time.. I have no AXE to grind IM from DFW I just get sick and tired of seeing SWA get away with so much is all. AWA did have 2 pilots that had a drinking issue but SWA had pilots that wanted to be hot shots and almost took out a gas station at the end of a runway in BUR.

The Burbank event was an operational test of an idea to see if we could improve the customer experience by delivering them directly to their vehicles in the parking lot. Didn't turn out to work so well and the process was re-evaluated. :D

By the way, care to elaborate on the comment "...tired of seeing SWA get away with so much"?
I don't represent the company in an official capacity but I, too, can type fast and am ready to discuss whatever issue you wish to bring up regarding SWA, Love Field, the 1968 Concurrent Bond Ordinance, or Wright Amendment.

I can and will openly tell anyone that SWA isn't perfect. It's not for everyone nor does it attempt to be. Not everyone likes it's face-paced operating style, or even it's jovial attitudes. So far, however, it has been the singular pre-deregulation example of how to consistently make a profit in the airline business.

Do I assume that by ending with "Buh by" AWAskyprincess has opted to cut and run rather than stand up to defend her company's practices? Perhaps she's not too confident that she can present rational support her unfounded comments? I'll be patient and await your reply, Princess.

Perhaps she's sifting through "all of the free press" that WN gets to get the best evidence possible?

Good riddance!!

Not everyone at the "new" US is on the same wavelength as others who have posted on this forum from AWA/US.

Southwest Airlines shines brighter than the rest because they simply do a great job. I have always been treated like a King when I have had to rely on the LuvBirds to get me to my destination. Great employees, great attitudes and great service. It has always been appreciated by this employee and whenever a SWA employee comes onboard one of my flights I will always do my best to return the favor. Keep up the good work. There are many of us at other carriers that really think that you are top notch.

Oh, by the way, I am a FIRM believer that WRIGHT IS WRONG!!!!!

Best regards from this AWA (US Airways) Flight Attendant!

It's NOT my company its just a cute name we all know that when SWA makes a mistake...killing a passenger, the over shot of the runway almost hitting a gas station YOU might all think that was really funny but a very dear friend was on that flight and has major issues since ..Then there was the time that SWA pilots got naked in the flight deck....those are the things that they like to sweep under the runway so to speak . A few months ago a pregnant lady about 40 was trying to get from lax to phx she was EL PREGO with triplets she asked for a seat belt exstender and then was told Oh we have to charge you for another seat this person only asked for a SE so that the buckle would not cut into her belly the FA's made such a big deal in RE to this they brought down a GA and a SUP this lady was not as large as the FA who at this point had become " Drama Queen" They did charge her for another seat but the person who was in the middle seat did not move nor did the window WHY because they were her kids so she had to pay or a another seat but never got it and the flight was full ( yes this is a true story)
