Non revs wearing parts of crew uniform

There was a thread in the US forum that aledges some one was non reving & wearing parts of crew uniform. What do you crew members think of this kind of thing?


I do want to make one thing clear. I have NO idea if any of what was in the other thread is true just looking for opinions.

Strictly forbidden at AA. In fact, if I want to give a f/a uniform jacket to Goodwill, I'm supposed to cut off the braid on the sleeves (as if) and the AMR label from the inside. Pants are just navy blue wool-poly, but the AMR label has to be removed if giving away.

Interestingly I have seen some people at Delta who are nonrevving wearing a Delta Airlines Polo, same at US. I must imagine it's a security concern for sure.

Thankfully I never had to commute by plane but....

I can see where a commuter would change to a "civilian" shirt/blouse or something like that so that they wouldn't stand out as a crew member on the flight. Especially on the commute home if they wanted to have an adult beverage.

That said, if the working crew had any security related concerns, a simple discrete ID check should clear things up. Anyone who couldn't provide an appropriate ID would be a definite security concern, though.

Not an airline employee, but I have worn a Southwest Polo and jacket on several flights, on SWA and other carriers. No issues from any of the flight crew on any flights.

Didn't say they were...just commenting on YV Interns comments that he has seen people on Delta flights with Delta Polo's on.
