What's new

The NEW UNIFORM F/A allowance

While there has to be a beginning somewhere I don't think it should start with Susie Snowflake or Johnny Jet that won't wear their apron. First off if we are not serving FOOD I'm NOT wearing the apron. This company has a lot to improve upon and be responsible for. It's VERY easy to crack down on a flight attendant refusing to wear an apron while the airline crumbles down all around us. If only the chain of command and ball and chain were this TIGHT with the REST of the company. 🙄 You cannot expect flight attendants that get abused daily by management, scheduling with their bad contract interpretation, etc. to have to ultimately deal with THIS? 🙄 Well the trailer crowd should expect us in an apron, don't they wear them at Lenny's or ehhhhh Denny's. I'm all about uniform and a standardized way of doing things and I also agree that the appearance of many needs addressed. Cracking down on someone for NOT wearing an F'n apron? Uhhhh I don't know about that. I'd be more concerned if they were at least dressed properly and the service flow was correct. The apron thing will not be adhered to. It will come down to personal opinion. If I DO wear it on a beverage flight to Florida I like my previous idea of switching them.

Missing the point Trav.......

Maybe I shouldn't have used the apron as an example!!!

I am merely stating that we CAN get back to uniform compliance and for those that refuse, then they can go away.

Forget about the friggin apron already!! lol

As a side note, I find it amusing that B707B is still lerking on this board at midnight and tells one they need a life outside this board!!!!

Hello Kettle?

I don't want to wear an apron either, but if that is what they require me to do...then I will do it.
You can hold your stance all the way to the unemployment line if you want too.

sky high states: They DONT want to give you anything back in your next contract, ok with that?
here's some more required duties in the future: Are YOU, ok with doing wheelchairs too? Escorting U/M's off the aircraft? (isnt that once you're blocked in, without pay?)

Wow, there are a bunch more US Airways pics on there now... actually overall a rather nice representation for US... In that large pic I know at least four of that five were MDA... Besides the fact that they happen to be a pretty good looking group, all of them look polished and welcoming with those big smiles! Very professional. How a crew should look. I've flown with a few of the F/As in those pictures, lots of fun people there... What is up with the one chick with the off white cardigan on though- what the hell is that? One comment for the boys- those photos definitely show the difference in the males with and without the ties. It's night and day between the guys with tie and wings and the ones without.

F/A pictures

I am one of those women who don't like scarfs. But I do like the tie. Go figure. But it's not policy for a woman to wear a tie. Why??
Anyway, why couldn't we have a tab or neck thingy that coordinates or matches with the men's necktie?

Somebody buy me a tie and let's see how non-discriminatory the company really is.

I loved looking at all the pictures. Thanks Etops for sharing!

Lucky Devil posted a great picture that looks very nice and professional with f/as that would be a lot of fun to work with. They should be the ones in the new safety demo video.

Keep em coming!

Life is full of choices BUDDY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If I am NOT okay with it...I leave.

I know we won't get anything back in our next contract, so I guess I have some deciding to do don't I!!!

Your post has NOTHING to do with uniform compliance.

Your post has NOTHING to do with uniform compliance.

sky high states: SURE IT DOES, BUCKO.

They WANT uniform compliance, wanting EVERYONE to look crisp, clean and sharp. SHOULDNT THEY PAY FOR IT?........DID YOUR LAST PAYCHECK INCLUDE "CLEANING ALLOWANCE?"
It's a policy and procedure, THEY'RE NOT WILLING TO PAY FOR. Until then, that uniform goes into the washer, not professionally cleaned.

Does anyone know what the price of the 3/4 sleeve shirt is? Or the winter scarf?

Female scarves $13.25
short sleeve shirts 19.15
Male short sleeve shirts 20.15

I know let's start two or three pages b**ching about the price disparity.

has anyone gone to try anything on yet? Please post when you do!!!!
