What's new

The NEW UNIFORM F/A allowance

Well, I put a whole bunch together and still only came to $788.35.

I was just picking stuff to up the price.......$850.00 is plenty.......

13 shirts (long and short sleeve)
3 pants
1 Blazer
1 zip jacket
1 vest
2 ties
1 All weather coat
1 Rain Coat
1 Apron
1 belt
1 zip sweater
-------------------------
Total: $788.35

I wouldn't even wear half of these things

But, if I remember correctly....if you don't spend it you lose it

So, SPEND IT!!!!!!!!
I'm not buying the belt. I will just use some rope...yee haw

Am I the only one that is tired of finding seat belt extensions on the jumpseats? I am going to start sending it in on a Cabin Safety form to the FAA. We need a weight program that is reasonable. Either that or I am going to start putting one of those refrigerator alarms on the snack basket door.
As for the uniform I have said my peace and will try to make the best out of the pieces offered. I think I can make a professional look.

I am quite sure that any "weight program" the company would try to implement would be met with discrimination lawsuits faster than you can say "Dave's Donut, please!" I do enjoy the alarm idea, though....

Uniforms? There are some pieces that we can make work. The whole uniform line is slowly growing on me.

Maybe after watching this, it might provide some excitement and momentum in wearing the new uniform.

 Yeah, not so much... What a freaking let-down after Delta. If they look silly and underwhelming on attractive models, well fitted, photographed in great lighting, how are they going to look on our stark reality employees? Maybe they'll look better in real life and people will be smart about which items they wear.

Oh well, hope for the best. Any pride or idea that we were on par with even other US carriers is long gone at this point, so off we go to China in our gym warmups on used airplanes. Like the company now, I am less concerned with service and more concerned with my money.

Nice thread with pics of other F/A uniforms. I would die for the Julien McDonald British Airways uniform in Reply # 5. Classic and timeless.

US Airways appears in there thanks to our very own Etops1, however neither his vest nor her scarf are US Airways uniform pieces.

I like the uniforms. I'm going to order the Coat, Blazer, Jacket, Tie and the sweater.
The good thing about this is you can order the ones that you like only.

At least you have something new to wear..... at AA our uniforms are so desparately in need of an overhaul.....half the girls are wearing their own hip huggers....

The supervisors in PHX would have a field day with their non compliance issues. Not only is the vest not an approved uniform piece, but he has his sleeves pushed back, that is not compliance. And the african american woman has more then one button unbuttoned...that scarf is definately NOT an approved uniform piece.

Interesting how the International crews say how embarrassed they are to walk thru the airports in Europe...I would agree if my fellow crew members looked and dressed as two of them pictured here are.

Thank goodness with the new uniforms will come a very strict compliance guidelines and it will be monitored by management. Be sure to watch out for the compliance tickets you may receive if you are out of compliance!!

The point is they are not replacing what you already own, what you already have spent. if you only order 3 pants and have to fly two 3 days back to back you wont have enought to wear. OR are you going to be one of those F/A's who looks dirty all the time.

The required items should not be part of the allowance period, they want them they buy them.
this is anouther example of the EAST MEC UNIFORm Group "side lettering" something, They sure can comprimise on this but heaven forbid if they fix something that needs it ie RESERVE SYSTEM

Um NO, I am not one of "those" flight attendants.

Why should the company be responsible to replace extra pieces that YOU bought on your own?

They are required to replace ONLY what they require of you.

Why is this a problem???????

Did you attend the Union meeting in PHL? If you did, you would know, as the MEC has stated mmmmaaaannnyy times, that the "union" prepared a list of about 10 quick improvements to the East reserve system in order to provide some relief to us. The only one the COMPANY agreed to was dropping the ETB floor to 40 hours, to allow for more trips to be available to reserves. THE COMPANY SAID ABSOLUTELY NOT TO ALL OF THE REST. Period. Regardless of how you feel about your AFA, the above is a fact.

Get it yet, or do you need further clarification? Continue whining now....

I think Mike told me, they lowered the level so that a BH could drop more trips with TWOP and ETB. They didn't want to fly to 50. Just like now, how there is less 4 days. Fact was, a BH couldn't drop a 4 day trip unless a rsv had vac, plus days off to pick them up. Solution, less 4 days, more 2 and 3 days. A rsv picking them up is just a by-product of the BH not wanting to work. A rsv still shouldn't have to give up their precious 11 dyas off per month for a paycheck. Maybe 1 day, but 4-6 days, hell no.

Save your breath!....really. 🙄 It was all to cater to the b/h. I don't give a fat rats a$$ how ANYONE wants to spin it. The above is pretty accurate.

Respectfully, I disagree. I saw the list of "reserve relief" that the AFA presented to the Company. There were some ideas that would provide some relief for us. Out of the entire list, the 40 hour "drop down" for B/H was the only enhancement to the RSV system agreed to by the company. It was "cost neutral", so they agreed. The AFA thought that this would allow more 1 or 2 days to drop down for reserves to pick up. It was not another way of "screwing" the reserves, even though it sounds good on here.

Believe it or not, not everyone is out to "screw" us. (And spare me the "koolaid" comment, come up with something better... )
