YOU WROTE :
. The pilots did take concessions. Yet 2 months later obtained a RAISE.
I don't know where you got this information but it is wrong. The pilots took a 15% salary cut plus increased health care costs. They have gotten no raises since.

If there is a strike at United it is move over Pan Am. The truth certainly is painful at times. Deal with it.

Sadly, that is not even an option. If there is a strike at United it is move over Pan Am. The truth certainly is painful at times. Deal with it.

Fly, as a former EAL employee, I can tell you that there are NO regrets about shutting EAL down. Lorenzo came to EAL with the sole intention of destroying labor. This was evidenced by the unwarranted harassment of unionized employees and being written up for no good reason. If he had succeeded by being able to pay CO compensation (massive paycuts, no pensions, etc.) at EAL (by the EAL people cowering), the cuts you are enduring now would have happened in 1989. The EAL people bought the other airline employees about 15 years. Even though DL, AA and US and their employees benefited by EAL's demise by getting gates, slots, routes, hubs, and aircraft, I have never heard anyone express any regrets even though it cost everything.Fly said:![]()
Sure would have been a real "WIN" for us, huh?
