What’s wrong with the uniforms? The only nasty part of the uniform is the ignorant reflective vest that is absolutely useless. Now that is embarrassing to wear. Especially when you are working on a loaded aircraft with passengers. Even after you wash the things they are dingy and grungy. It bothered me at first and still does to a degree but oh well. It's NWA's passengers I am rubbing up against when I have to work my way down the isle of a boarding aircraft. If they don't care I don't see why I should. It does still bug me though.
This wouldn't be the same scab that was fired just after the strike then went on T.V. and told the nation that he, an FAA Certified A&P Mechanic was incapable of changing a tire, would it? He made the whole "craft" across the country look like it was filled with a bunch of bumbling idiots.
Just for the record I have six family members on my flight benefit list and they have all flown on NWA now at least twice and look forward to enjoying more flights. I have no qualms at all about letting my family fly Northwest. I myself fly NWA just about every week now and have yet had any problems other than being bumped a couple of time and spending an extra hour or two at the airport. You guys killed that extra wait time quick.
well, it's what you feel. I've been on the aircraft and I prefer not to do that with my mom. Work feels like russian roulette. Insurance? I'm checking out some "other options".
Well, after working the ground, ramp, gate and now F/A I do know there are some incompetent mx working and there's competent mx working... just that now we have really incompetent mx working who lacks the years of experience to fix things right away instead of calling up whomever to figure some of it out or wait for a "real scab with experience" to appear.
At this one mechanical I had recently, we waited 8 hrs. Boy that was FUN!--and guess what? That was to CHANGE A TIRE!
So what? Those uniforms are just ugly. What is that called "steenland blue"? Well I suppose having them on is better than not. yuck.
