What's new

NW,UAL,LCC don't need 100% of Delta

Maybe it will be just like the old PanAm days?

Maybe. Maybe not. Maybe after this is all said and done all you will have to show for it is your same old pathetic operation. Enjoy your up and coming retirement. Oh wait. You don't have one. I am guessing by your screen name you are one of the younger ones. What? 55 and a reserve 757 FO?  Some career huh?

I, for one, am really getting weary of your constant bashing of USAirways on this forum. Especially the employees.

Believe me when I tell you that USAirways would have been gone about two BK's ago it weren't for the efforts and resolve of the rank and file employees. Opportunistic management took clear advantage of bankruptcy to gut the contracts and yes, the pilots and flight attendant pensions too.

I'll wager you have never even flown aboard a USAirways airplane or been in a one of their terminals. Check the DOT metrics and you'll find USAirways leads your beloved Delta in most categories.

While USAirways has some pretty ratty looking jets in the fleet, they are all scheduled for the new livery paint track, and will be painted ASAP. The USAirways B&C concourses in PHL are currently being renovated and brand new crew lounge facility will soon be a reality.

Except for the late 737-800's and the 777's a lot of Delta's fleet looks equally as pathetic as the USAirways fleet awaiting new paint.

In case you missed it, USAirways is the up and coming airline. And they're ultimately going to acquire Delta or parts of it. And all your rantings and the machinations of Captain Moak and the DL pilots will not thwart the outcome.

Well said 24PS, Luv fits the "mold" at DAL. I have lost all respect for him after his remarks towards me...he's very immature!! But after all, he does work for delta!! I can see why they hired him..........

And the remarks towards DL have been favorable? Hypocritical. At least the feeling is mutual. Now that we have established the fact that DL employees don't like US and vice versa what next? If the merge proceeds, it going to make one hell of an airline isn't it?

Huh? You're on the DL forum. Have you been on the US forum? Is that what you would consider a "nice" way to talk about each other? I agree with you 100% that it's insulting to read. But, my friend, it's a 2-way street. Do you know how many times A DAY that I just read posts and then bite my tongue? If I have to read one more post about stapling us to the bottom of some list, or if we don't merge with US then we'll be fragmented -I'll probably vomit.

Agreed

I've not only flown on USAirways, I started my career at HP-and still have a many good friends there. I had no personal issue with merging with US in the beginning; I just didn't think it made sense. Since joining this forum, however, and reading the statements made by US flight attendants about their own airline, and the deteriorating product, I absolutely don't want this merger. It amazes me that they are so negative about their own company, and then can't imagine why we don't want to be a part of it! As for "metrics", NEITHER airline should be proud of themselves. They both need some improvement. However, JD Powers did put us #2 overall behind CO. We're #1 in the flight crew category. But, all that means nothing. I would still like a pay raise!

I believe the majority of the DL fleet is from the 90's. That includes the 777's, 737-800's, and the 767ER's and -400's. The 757's and MD-88's are now the oldest. We no longer have the 737-200's or -300's. At any rate,as you've stated, a little paint and new interiors and all is good.

In case you missed it, USAirways is the up and coming airline. And they're ultimately going to acquire Delta or parts of it. And all your rantings and the machinations of Captain Moak and the DL pilots will not thwart the outcome.

We'll have to wait and see-won't we? I still find it amusing that you all think we're a bunch of meanies-yet on the US board the majority of voters still want to merge with us? Why is that? If our fleet is crap. And you're supposedly better than us according to whatever metrics you want to read? Could it be the 30+ international destinations that it would add? It certainly can't be to improve your service standards-because remember, the Tempe crowd will be in charge. So you can say buh-bye to coat closets and FC and other amenities. Those will be long gone.

Luv, I think it's time to "grow up" and realize that both employee groups are here for the ride. Nothing more and nothing less. I personally have NOTHING against Delta...why should I. If you HATE LCC employees, you should sit back and realize WE had NOTHING to do with this on 11-15-06. You heard it just like we did. Anyone reading this forum on the outside would be shocked how we as professionals act towards each other. Anyway, I HOPE this buyout DOESN'T happen and if it does I would hope we all can get over this hatred that is here. Sorry you dislike ALL of us and sorry there is so many cheap shots fired across the ranks...somehow it all will work out no matter if we like it or not!

Happy fly'n for whom ever it happens to end up with....

I also questioned the wisdom of any merger but truthfully am sick of the responses back and forth and actually embarassed. I figure that most of the venom is from a very few and hope that is really the case. I suspect 95 percent just want to have a solid career and hope our companies prosper. Whether that means together as one company or apart I have to believe mostly we are better than the boards seem to show.

That's what I think. The back and forth jab's at each other are nothing more than discontent and pride showing it's ugly face. Most of the employees are good, caring PEOPLE who want to have a decent life and career and will go along with things the way they work out.

Shave your moustache... it looks like a hamster is mating with your lip.
