From the pictures I've seen those scabs dont look that young. In fact most look like they are in their 50s yet in all that time the only way they could get a job with a major is to be a scab. At that age these guys were probably not laid off.
All the mechs I know who were laid off were able to find work, most have no intention on coming back.
I also know quite a few good mechs who quit. They went all sorts of places. One started his own air conditioning business, another became a lawyer, one started a Snap-on route, two went to Con ed, another went to a major truck dealership and three went to Jet Blue and all of them had well over 10 years seniority and were nowhere near a layoff.Thats just those I can think of off the top of my head, what NWA has is all the losers who could not get other jobs. Guys that couldnt fix cars or trucks are now taking apart NWAs aircraft. That should make the customers feel good!
