You only need to look at the decline of the middle class salary compared to upper class. Wealth stagnation has little to do with government welfare programs.

It's kind of hard for my political party to approve of anything since I don't belong to one.
 
And I was referring to whatever the cost would have been to keep 30-40K US servicemen in Iraq.  Or the cost of any potential intervention on our part right now.
