Eugenics? OK, I think I'm OK with that. Not in the manner that Sanger was doing it (along racial lines) but I see nothing wrong with killing a fetus that has a severe deformity or some other medical issue that would limit the quality of life. The determinations should be left up to the doctor and the mother.

It because the neighborhoods are predominately black or is it economics related? There are quite a few businesses in economically depressed areas. Bars and strip clubs come to mind. You think Beverly Hills will cut a deal on rent for PP? Since they are a donation/grant based company they are probably not looking to pay a fortune in real estate or rent.

Big leap there along with ignoring the fact that you can call the birth what ever you want but once out of the womb it is considered a person (at least in the US) and is covered by the COTUS. So aside from that minor point, yea …. go for it.

Since I guess this thread will eventually get there anyway, I really do not understand why people have such a hard time euthanasia. If someone wants to end their life on their own terms and with dignity who the heck is the government to stop them? I teat my animals better than we treat fellow human beings. I have heard horrible stories from people in hospitals. My mom was being kept alive on various life support/extending machines before we finally said no more. The last time I saw my mother she had lost half her body weight and no longer recognized me or my dad. She had no self awareness. There was nothing there. My dad said enough. We fought to get her in hospice and they medicated the heck out of her. And that was it. I am glad hospice exists. And for those who thing euthanasia does not exist, talk to a hospice nurse. Unfortunately hospice is already very late in the game and by the time people get there, their quality of life is crap or worse.

Hate to break this to you, but the Kevorkian movement is going mainstream.

Looks like the GOP knows there is a problem but judging from the last two years when they 'discovered' this problem they have not been able to figure out how to fix it.

Seems pretty easy to me.  Get out of peoples bodies.  Get out of peoples bed rooms.  Support equality for women in the work place.  Support leave for pregnancy.  Why is this so hard for the GOP to grasp?  May be if the GOP actually had more female members they might gain a better grasp.

WHY? Government has no place regulating these issues. Unions and public opinion demanding adoption of these rules/perks is fine.

Women don't deserve equality in the work place? Child birth is an important part of humanity. I think a woman should be allowed to spend the first several weeks of her childs life together.

Hmmmm....really? What happens when the woman who just had an abortion demands several weeks to get over her child's life?

What I would like to know is why maternity leave has priority over paternity leave. I thought both mother and father were both equally important during a babies first few months.

Though you have a valid point.

Why on earth would a medical procedure be covered under maternity leave?  That is what sick leave is for.

I think paternity leave could be argued either way but for fairness I think agree that paternity leave should be granted.  I like to see it codified into law 4 to 6 weeks paid.  Companies under a certain size can have the cost subsidized by federal, state or a combination.

If as a nation we believe that equality is of paramount importance then logic would dictate that Maternity leave and paternity leave must be treated equally.

Forgetting of course that the primary role of government is preservation of Liberty, followed by enforcement of private property/contract rights.
