The Huff piece misses what happened... go figure.
According to numerous other articles I read there is a four person election board for each county. They decide what time the polls should operate for early voting. the board has two republicans and two dems. Ties are broken by Husted. What was happening is in counties which tended to vote dems the board tied to close them earlier and not have them open on the weekend. In counties were the voting generally went right the board tied to have them close later. Of course Husted would always vote with the two republicans. Thus the bias. Husted got called out on it and was forced to make voting times the same state wide. He did manage to make sure the polls were closed on the weekend which historically was when a lot of minorities .bi voted dems would vote. So much for expanding the ability for people to exercise is their constitutional right to vote.

All I'm saying is , make the voting booths available on saturdays so as people who work MONDAY-FRIDAY, can have better access to vote................... Oh, and people that don't work can vote on saturdays too !

For the "people with jobs," most polls are open long enough to cover just about any shift imaginable. For others, the option of absentee (or early) voting exists. If all else fails, many have laws allowing people to take (unpaid) time off to vote with no penalty. Does Ga. not have this?

Since the ultimate goal as high of turnout as possible, I'd like to see vote by mail expanded to all states.

Where I live polls open at 6:00AM and close at 7:00PM. More than enough time to cast a vote. If for some bizzare reason that does not work for you there is always absente ballots.
