First off, it must have been a slow news day in CLT today and secondly, will someone tell them that there is NO America West, subsidiary or not. Or is there? Answers, we demand answers. Doug, is there still an America West? I guess it must confuse them with the "Cactus" callsign and all? Hopefully ATC knows that most "Cactus" planes are (supposedly) white and blue with a big flag on the tail.... 🙄

Was this reporter born under a rock?
I could see the Atlanta paper not being 100% up-to-date on US/HP. It would know DL and FL. But the CLT Disturber? Wow. And what happened to fact-checking? Or the editor?

Probably still in shock over the Panthers devastating loss last night.

They must have run out of news stories to write an article like that. I've had aborted landings like that before. How come none of those made the news? It's really no big deal. I mean, it could be a big deal if the plane landed and the two planes collided but since that was avoided it's all good. Everyone is safe. That is odd that they wrote about America West. Did anyone write and correct them that it is now US Airways? I know for some of us we are still operating as separate airlines but still...

What ever happened to basic fact-checking?

Maybe they came to the airport and asked some East crewmembers who were standing around about it and they said it was an America West flight! At least they didn't say American West!

Sorry, I couldn't resist! I really do like my Westie colleagues! Peace and Hugs!

"America West flight 1525, had rolled too slowly onto the same runway. America West is a part of US Airways."

Both flights were operated by the EAST making this an odd statement in the article. (FLT 1522; FLT 1525)

OMG are you serious? It was East metal?

I've taken the liberty of e-mailing the reporter a piece of my mind.

YVINTERN, I'm almost afraid to ask what you said in your email.
