Obama floats plan to tax cars by the mile

The Obama administration has floated a transportation authorization bill that would require the study and implementation of a plan to tax automobile drivers based on how many miles they drive.

The plan is a part of the administration's "Transportation Opportunities Act," an undated draft of which was obtained this week by Transportation Weekly.

The White House, however, said the bill is only an early draft that was not formally circulated within the administration.

“This is not an Administration proposal," White House spokeswoman Jennifer Psaki said. "This is not a bill supported by the Administration. This was an early working draft proposal that was never formally circulated within the Administration, does not taken into account the advice of the President’s senior advisers, economic team or Cabinet officials, and does not represent the views of the President.”

Yeah this is the way to be the champion of the middle class and working poor. We're headed towards $5.00 a friggin' Gallon and beyond and this is what this Horse's Ass of a President comes up with through one of his political lackeys? If they put a tax on arrogance and stupidity he'd be Chapter 11 within a week, the Bumb Dastard. You think I'm in full rant now, you should have been here when I read the article.

Whether or not you care is of little concern to me. Dapoes was quoted in someones response casting suspicion as to why he was buried in 24 hours and this was why. I don't care if you do not like it. This is what the military did and why they did it. Are more lives worth desecrating a body so you can have your sense of revenge? That's a bit harsh! However for me and I may be wrong but I put a higher value on our citizens then I do for those from elsewhere. I am not very forgiving of those who seek to kill us simply because we're from the USA.

Frankly I look at it this way. 3,500 US Citizens and Foreign Nationals dead on 9/11 = 350,000 dead Afghani's. They know what the Taliban and Alli Iben Farteen were up to and the hung around, to bad so sad. Ponder your relatives demise the next time you decide to follow OBL and Mullah Omar. We're watching your towel headed opium smuggling asses and we'll kill ya quick as look at you. Hey go for it! You call us the "Great Satan" perhaps it's time to live up to our billing.

I do think we should give them a proper Islamic burial however.

I sound harsh because I am very dissapointed and disgusted with this person's attitude. For this person to express concern that UBL should have have a "proper" Islamic burial is an insult. It reminds me of of the same mindset of the Westboro Baptist Church members protesting at soldier's funerals. Although the Supreme Court has allowed them the right with a recent ruling, it does not make their actions any less repulsive.

I get great pleasure knowing UBL is at the bottom of the Arabian Sea.

Let it be a message to those who follow UBL, that there is plenty of room on the ocean floor for Islamic radicals.

Frankly it has to do with perceived lack of credibility. In the law there is a concept known as "False in one, False in All" and it has to do with how a juror may weigh testimony from a witness. Basically it means if you think the witness is lying about a portion of their testimony you may throw out that testimony in its entirety during your deliberations.

There is a percentage of the population that doesn't believe one word out of the mans mouth and want some sort of proof. Do I think Obama has lied to us? HELL YEAH! Do I think he's lying now? NO I DON'T.

Right or wrong this man has lost gobs of trust & credibility and it will dog him for however many years he is in office.

You make this sound as if he told a lie above and beyond a lie that all/most politicians have told. Politicians lie when they move their lips. Not sure what the big deal is. I cannot find the actual poll numbers now but I was looking at 2010/2011 polls and the fluctuation was on the right. The center and left numbers have only varied slightly. The people who think he was born on Mars or where ever are overwhelmingly on the right and gate the man for what ever reason and will never vote for him.

Personally I wish he never divulged the long form. It gave credibility to those nut jobs which they do not deserve. This President has not bore of a credibility issue than any other one. He has more of a hate issue but that is a separate thread.

On Saturday, USMC Staff Sgt. Jason Rogers, who was killed in action in Afghanistan April 7, was buried in Brandon, Mississippi...Why weren’t there protestors?

Planning ahead by the locals, as it turns out.

From an Ole Miss sports message board, a tidbit of information…

A couple of days before, one of them (Westboro protestors) ran his mouth at a Brandon gas station and got his arse waxed. Police were called and the beaten man could not give much of a description of who beat him. When they canvassed the station and spoke to the large crowd that had gathered around, no one seemed to remember anything about what had happened.

Rankin County handled this thing perfectly. There were many things that were put into place that most will never know about and at great expense to the county.

Most of the morons never made it out of their hotel parking lot. It seems that certain Rankin county pickup trucks were parked directly behind any car that had Kansas plates in the hotel parking lot and the drivers mysteriously disappeared until after the funeral was over. Police were called but their wrecker service was running behind and it was going to be a few hours before they could tow the trucks so the Kansas plated cars could get out.

A few made it to the funeral but were ushered away to be questioned about a crime they might have possibly been involved in. Turns out, after a few hours of questioning, that they were not involved and they were allowed to go on about their business.
