A buddy of mine just came back from Roswell, NM about a week ago. He was there picking up a 319 that just got a new paint job. The new paint job was our livery, but I'm wondering if it was a star alliance A/C just getting out of that scheme... He couldn't remember the tail number.

He also said he saw a AA 757 there getting the new paint job as well as a Republic 190 getting a US paint job...

I doubt that they would be getting out of Star that quickly.
The Star 319's are 700 & 703.

All of our planes have been painted. Were any of our 319's paint that bad to require re-painting now? Especially in light of the merger?

Not sure, but some of them have been in the current livery for 6+ years already. I would imagine that several are due for a repaint by now.

Aren't there still some 75's in the old US livery?

Regarding the new AA livery I don't think it will be around long. The feedback is so horrible about it that I imagine one of the first things to be done will be to slow down or stop te repainting until the merger is blessed by the DOJ. In the meantime I see a new livery also being worked on, probalby similar to or inspired by the US one but with a decent eagle.

No, all of the 757's were done for a long time. The last ones to get the new livery were a mix of 319/20/21's.

Most of us over at AA hate that paint as well.There was a blue tail/silver fuselage artist conception floating around a few months ago that looked much better IMHO.(It was also a much closer AA/US hybrid)I'd love to see that in place of what Horton picked out!

Maybe some good news for all those people not in favor of the new brand.It appears Parker is also in that club. I noticed during the press conference yesterday, the press brought up the new livery to the 2 CEO's, this was the only topic that Parker stayed quiet on, and Horton did all the talking. Then during Parkers town hall in PHX last night, he was asked again, and his response was:

"I got a lot of questions today and I don't have a great answer", "It's the kind of detail I don't have answers to yet", "I'm not suggesting by any means that this will not be the livery going forward, this is the kind of thing you want to spend some time on and decide the right brand of the combind airline", "I don't want to pre judge one way or the other, it's a detail that still needs to be work out and it's one that we will work out together"

So there appears to be some hope for livery still.
