What's new

Painting of AC

I would say that the first one in some new or hybrid scheme is still six months down the road.

i sure hope they would keep all the retro aircraft and add a usairways retro that would be neat

Does AA still have aircraft going in for paint? Or do you think they would hold off and not spend any more money in case there was a new livery designed after the possible merger....

At this point, we can only hope that they slam on the brakes.

That would be great, as I really liked their liveries. Out of the 3 that I know of, the first with the globe or the last one were my favorites.

All US 757's that were painted in Star livery have been repainted back into the current US livery .i do wonder though if the 5 new A330's we are getting will come in AA livery . My guess is no but just wondering .

How bout a TWA retro!!

Definitely a TWA retro. That airline had such a long, glorious history in its day.

...And an Empire retro.

...And a Trump Shuttle retro (The Donald would probably charge a royalty to use his name, though. Could simply use the paint scheme and leave the name off.)

...And a Mohawk retro.

I think there was another one that Allegheny absorbed, but I don't recall the name.

I think having these liveries would really be nice.

I doubt it. They are probably too far into the process. Maybe the last one or two this year, depending on how quickly Parker can bribe the DOT and senators to get this thing done.

I have often wondered why they didn't do one for Empire and Mohawk, as they were both pretty neat liveries in their day.
The other airline that you are referring to would be Lake Central.

The problem with retro is that many pax look out the window with a big question mark? Retro is for employees only, in substitute for pay. No retro for me, unless it's cub yellow!

As for the Empire livery, I had read that DP said that US Airways did not aquire Empire and thats why they didn't do a throwback for them...It's to bad since there are alot of Empire folks still working...

One thing I'd like to see stay is the stylized flag on the tail. It can easily be incorporated into any good design and IMO should stay.

Heritage Liveries IMO are also a must. Perhaps even heritage uniforms. AA/US has a golden opportunity to really create a brand. Dumping One World and exercising some size clout over Star would be good for business too.

Lake Central was merged into Allegheny
