The dark blue will fade and look horrible within a year. It's a good design, maybe replace that dark blue with the gray/mica.

They wont paint the MD-80s, that fleet is slated to be retired.
Doug is a penny pincher, he wont throw away money since the merger is expected to cost $1.2 Billion over the next three years.
Why would US return its planes to someone who doesnt own them?
LH doesnt own any US planes.
US painted its own planes in the Star livery.
I recall Parker saying that it was because that aircraft type would rotate through the largest number of stations, or something similar to that. That's correct, Star has nothing to do with the ownership of the A/C. On another note, I have always wondered why the 319's are the only type to carry any of the special liverys. Both of the SA, along with all of the retro A/C, and the sports teams too.
What are you talking about?
If US leaves Star, those planes will be repainted, each alliance has a special livery and has a certain number of planes that must be painted in the livery.
LH doesnt own any planes that US flies.
STAR Alliance 319, in the paint shop tomorrow 🙂
I agree. Much too early for that. Will be interesting to see if it has Star Alliance on it though. It may be in the paint shop, but there's no way it will come out of this cycle with any American Airlines or One World livery.
