Where is the passenger service group on forming a UNION. I know NW's Passenger service was union but is combined DL/NW going to vote in a union. Also would a Passenger service union at DL allow those READY RESERVE positions?

The IAM submitted signed A cards to the NMB yesterday for the Passenger Service group.

As for Ready Reserve, I can't imagine it being in a CBA, but then again, contractual language is based on the wishes of the membership. in other words, if the majority of people would like to keep the program in effect, then the language will reflect it.

Here I believe(along with whatever is left of DL USA reservations) is DL's strongest non union area(but God I hope I'm wrong)
I'd imagine that the average agent is vastly working in ATL, perhaps the second family paycheck, and still majority female(NOT that there aren't female ATL agents who want a union, because I'm sure a certain number do), and this is still a southern based company !

My humble prediction(when all the smoke clears)....Union Pilots....F/A's, and below wing Ramp, including Air Freight.

Kev3188, speaking of Air Freight, whats the current and future situation up in ANC with regard to A/F plz.

thank you.

I got this info yesterday from a full time DL gate agent who was recently in DTW , which is big NW territory. He said the passenger service group was about 40% former NW, 40% Delta and 20% Ready Reserve. Those RR agents who were hired prior to July 2010 are allowed to vote in the upcoming election. So if you put the 40% former NW with the 20% RR agents that gives you a majority if everyone in those respective groups vote. The individual I spoke with said he had no doubt in his mind that the 20% RR agents would vote to join the union to obtain benefits ( Health Ins. ) which they currently do not have. In my humble opinion I would feel that many DL agents would want a union to back them even though they have been non-union up to this point. FYI RR Reserve salary moved to $11.04 per hour effective Oct 1, 2010. RR agents allowed to work 25 hrs per week unless the local station management needs them for more hours. My friend indicated that he was never worked over 39 hrs to keep from going into overtime. And that is my 2 cents worth since I posted this thread.

dont forget, delta just hired 1000 ramp people....that will be 1000 no votes

Actually, that'll be 1000 people who are ineligible to vote.

@Nicky Guy-- ANCFF is still staffed... For how much longer, I don't know...

why are they ineligable? As of 2 days ago, word is they get to vote.
