The machinists and baggage handlers union, whose 8,500-worker membership approved the concessions, says the agreement could eliminate as many as 4,000 of the nearly 26,500 jobs at the Arlington, Va.,-based carrier. Airline spokesman David Castelveter says that the job loss could be much smaller.
