Now that the merger is done , isn't it time to take care of your own employees ? Most Us airways employees who have more than 15 years are making now what they did in 2001 , after bribing the AA employees into this merger and ignoring your own employees , isn't it time to bring our pay up to AA levels ? You cut deals with the flight crews , what about the mechanics , dispatchers , fleet service and crew scheduling ?
Anyone who thinks this merger is going to be wonderful is dreaming , there will be layoffs , displacements and culture clashes . Isn't time to recognize the people who have been here a long time and dumped on ?

Pay-pariWHAT? I don't think the word parity exists in Doug Parker's vocabulary. You will be in for a biiiig surprise with Dougy.... Keep waiting....

US is not the least bit concerned about taking care of anyone but the shareholders. Just look at their track record with labor the past years. As an employee you are viewed as a liability not an asset. Do not look for this attitude to change going forward. Any improvements in wage, benefits and working conditions will have to be fought hard for. It will not be given by the company out of a sense of, or obligation to, being fair. The word is not in their dictionary. Be prepared to "drop the gloves" in hockey terms; cause you're not going to get anything without a fight. You will get nothing out of the kindness of their hearts.

As much as I'd like to see increased wages, I think you're putting the cart before the horse. Lets get through the bankruptcy and regulatory approvals and full on merger and then maybe we can look at compensation. I've been through the wage cuts and loss of benefits. I know it sucks, but lets get through the merger first. Don't forget, we've already been at this stage of the game before with UA, and the feds killed it.

Never.......another merger does not come first. What comes first are the employees of each airline then the merger should transpire from what each brings forward. AA has MOU's.........US has open contracts. How is that any more unappreciative. At least we should be moving fwd with all that we gave up 7 or more years ago. Is that asking too much?.....The company didnt think so with the passenger service group?

US has put in place, what they believe, is the necessary ground work with labor. Reaching MOUs with the unions they believe will be the key players going forward. The IAM wasn't even given a seat at the table in this process. Can't get any more flagrant or unappreciative than that. I agree completely with your viewpoint... unfortunately US doesn't.

Well, just remember that a Memorandum of Understanding is nothing more than a piece of paper unless the contents of that MOU are actually implemented. Let's wait and see. Those of us at AA have experience with an executive slogan of "Pull Together, Win Together." Turned out that meant..."we will pull money from your pocket and we will win by putting it in our pocket."

jimntx,
You can expect more of the same from DP and company. If you believe otherwise; you're sadly mistaken. Ask anyone from the US labor represented side.
