Paycuts

You guys have got to remember that Mr. Fish is working for an airline that is in trouble as well. Yes, management over there is quiet and not announcing gloom and doom (yet) but they have their problems. It is in Mr. Fish's interest to rattle the cage of every UAL employee the best he can because he needs UAL to fail in order to have a future at Frontier. He can huff, puff, jump up and down, but the fact of the matter is that the only way Frontier is going to thrive and grow is if UAL, and in particular, TED fails. TED is kicking butt in DEN (one of UAL's few good points) and it's hurting Frontier badly. Keep that in mind when you read his posts. I wish no Frontier employee ill will.

I blew up his paystub and it looks exactly like my paystub. I'm not going to post the numbers- Fish can do that if he wants to. It does say on it though, "This is the 8th and final installment of the retroactive payment for IAM employees. All total amounts have been paid."

Driver,

The analysts aren’t giving UAL much of a chance for survival and Denver obviously is planning for just such a scenario. No one will argue that every carrier is feeling the sting of high jet fuel and flat revenue. Some are suffering more than others. This week we'll see just how bad UAL's financials are and just how much in trouble F9 is in as you believe. As I have said before UniTED has been trying to put F9 out of business for years with no success. What makes today or tomorrow any different, especially given UniTED's deteriorating state with each passing day.

CAPT, you are correct there are a lot of long time furloughed airline employees that come from MANY different carriers. We have the talent and we all have a BIG desire to see F9 continue to thrive and grow. I don't fault the employees at UAL, I know how bad it is there from past experience. It's not as rosey a place to work as MOST want people to believe. It's their choice, I know UAL'S management style and I don't give them HIGH marks in bringing UniTED out of BK sucessfully. I do wish the employees at UniTED the best of luck in their future endevours.

Let's see.....According to the "analysts" UAL should have missed just about every DIP covenant last year and was going to be liquidated by now. Man they were so right! And of course, our favorite analyst, Michael Boyd loved bashing TED and telling us how miserably it was going to perform, but alas, Mr. Boyd has been awfully quiet lately about that particular endeavor. I wonder why? Got any more analysts you want to quote fishy?

And of course Denver is planning for a UAL failure scenario. Good management does that. They probably also plan for other unlikely events, like aircraft crashes, tornadoes, terrorist attacks, and such. That is what good management does. They come up with contigencies in case something unexpected happens. Just because they publicly say that they are planning for the failure of UAL doesn't mean it's going to happen.

Mr. Fish,

Fly & Casual Rat,

When Mr. Fish incites you with his posts and you respond with derogatory comments about F9 and their employees, keep in mind that many United furloughees work here as well as many of us from other major airlines. Precision counter attacks (posts) would ruffle less feathers.

C54, you're right, I shouldn't sink to the depths of Fish. It's simply a matter of reaction on my part. I get a little defensive perhaps. I apologize to the F9 employees who can read, spell, punctuate and maintain proper grooming habits. I also apologize to the F9 employees who maintain professionalism in our Industry. That is, I apologize if my statements directed towards the unprofessional nature of Fish were misperceived as being directed towards them--they weren't. I simply get offended when there isn't much left of a person's IQ (because his kidneys and liver are drawing most of what's available) comes in, and starts blathering on about my Company's hypothetical demise--without any direct knowledge of the matters at hand. I get offended when I see the same representative of your company inciting the destroyed USAir employees in their forum like he does in here. He's a stalker--spreading malevolence wherever he goes (malevolence...it's in a book called "The Dictionary" Fish...look it up).
You guys need to worry about your own problems, you have enough of your own. That's the reason why I think F9 needs a forum of its own--I'll stand behind that! Contrary to what Fish thinks, I think we'll be around for awhile. I wish everyone at F9 (except for Fish--he has bad kharma) luck as well. The Industry's workers are under attack, both active and retirees, we need to prop each other up, instead of the self gratifying negative methodology that Fish employs.

Do any of you see whats happening over here at U what makes you think that a judge would do any different here. I believe that the airlines are going to keep this up untill one of us puts up a fight///// i.e. sick out strike what ever it takes sad to say that we are all screwed this is the sadest time I see friends crying in break rooms because they see their way of life changing by the stroke of a pen from a judge a lot of people are just taking the vol leave most are junior because they can move on quicker ........single moms working day and night sleeping locker rooms while their parents watch there kids ...It is not plesant to say the least and to top it off the judge says he knows what his dicision will cause but does it any way.
U is fileing a 1113c in November and the top out wage is 15.20 hr. but you have shave a few years off your senority and start at 13.64 and work your way back up to 15.20 .

I'm here because I have friends at UAL (I guess you're not one of them) who I hope don't suffer the same insult and injury we at US are. As for exuding you to make a stand we would not, what makes you so sure we're not trying to? Pardon me for caring about a fellow airline worker. I'll stick to my board and you can dine where I defecate. Get the picture?

Unfortunately we are our own worst enemy. When the company unilaterally takes what they want, I wish that 5000 mechanics would come in around the world, shake hands with each other and say your good-byes and push the toolboxes out into a new dawn. As painful as all that would be, the expression on Glenn and company's face as well as the government would be worth it to me. Instead, these guys will justify being even BIGGER pieces of sh*t by just doing less, which helps solve nothing. I'm an all or nothing guy, I don't like pouting and I don't like excuses. Play the game 100% or sit out, and I'm ready to sit out.

Don't get me wrong, I know the company is in a bad way, I know oil is way too high, yields are way to low. I'm not chest beating and would work with the company in anyway possible for the success of all...but all of you know that management has alienated everyone, and is doing it's uptmost to perserve itself. I see the shell game everyday, the positions are "gone" but the people are "still" here....and all of us are paying for it!!!
