What's new

PHILADELPHIA CREW ROOM; The new one !

They are in fact doing something, I saw it today. I think it used to be the express lounge, the one that was used before "F" opened. (its been so long I kind of forgot where it was).

A new crew room is desperately needed and if its ever done I will be gratefull. But I dont think you could have a more inconveniant place to put it. All the way at then end of a concourse. Good luck getting down there, signing in, then hauling your butt to the end of the next terminal, in a timely fashion.

It is indeed the old Express Lounge. And, if you may recall, there is an elevator to that area and I was told by the CP office that it is extant and will be available for crew use. It will be accessible by Crew ID ONLY...no PHL ramp badges; no USAirways ID's that have anything other than CREW on the front. (Although I imagine the staff who work in the CP and InFlight offices will be given badges that work.) There will be restroom facilities within the limited access area, so we will no longer be able to blame the rampers for the sorry conditions of the toilet facilities.

Judging from the architectural drawings I saw many months ago in the CP office it will be a really nice facility. Even though it will be restricted access, I hope they bolt down any easy chairs, sofas and tables. It is, after all, PHL.

How will they expect flight attendants from other bases to access the crew room unless they issue a special pass or ID to every US flight attendant. I'm glad to hear there is movement and someone is actually kicking the dirt.

Every flight attendant from every base has a USAirways ID card that says CREW on the front, do they not?

Isn't that what I said?
