Can anyone give me any details: plane, $, #trips/per week. etc.

P.S. its about time, only 2 years AFTER the Olympics...thats pretty good timing knowing U all these years.

Who will learn the language to fly PHL-ATH? How many LODOs will U need? Have they begun to enlist the f/as to learn the language?

I know of only one f/a who is fluent in Greek. Its a difficult language and will take longer than a few months to learn.

Just keep showing the passengers Anthony Quinn movies, they'll be quiet and content! lol

I dont think LODO's are a FAA requirement, however they are certainly a help and convience....

With cost cutting and such I wouldnt expect to see new language speakers on any new destinations...

Well, the language only uses 24 letters to our 26. Also, English has incorporated many words from Greek, so there are a lot of cognates. I was there for a year, so I learned enough Greek to be dangerous, but if you know the tourist basics, that's not bad. Now to be able to explain the safety features and such of the plane, I would hope they've got that scripted.

This past summer I flew Lufthansa, Adria, & Turkish. They all had prerecorded safety and inflight announcements in the language of destination. Would that not work for
US?

The Greek youth in Greece do speak some English. They have to take 3 years during high school. But the older generation of Greeks know some words but they are not fluent.

If U has a video prepared then that might assist the greek pax coming to the States; only if they are paying attention. 🙄

Whatever you do DON'T take US to Greece!!! Jeryy Glass will put a contract out on you!! 😛 😀

Ha, ha, ha,

I was the last of the Mohekins...spoke fluent Greek. The only place I do go is Greece. U waited for me to leave, and then started service.

Do you think that was on purpose????? Nahhh, B)
