Phl Pilots Letter

What is truly amazing is how the MEC, other than PHL and PIT, do not see what is going on. Or if they do, the outright fear that they have drives them to give a carte blanche to a management who has literally done nothing to warrant such givebacks or given ANY reason to have confidence in their ability to run this airline.

If, and it is a big if, there is a divide in the U ALPA group it is based on fear and Dave Siegel's ability to manage supposedly intelligent men's expectations. PHL and PIT have been termed by the fearful as the RollCall 4 (RC4). In essence they should be called the Reality4 (R4). They, and their contituents, understand what is at stake and choose to meet the incompetence and outsourcing attempts head on.

Make no mistake, the R4 want the company to survive and prosper as we all do. The difference between us and the fearful group of pilots is that we are fed up with the incompetence and leaderless management. And we are attempting to put a stop to it right now.

Here comes Branson and Virgin USA...... ALPA knows it.

Richard Branson's Virgin USA low-cost carrier plans to purchase as many as 55 planes and may partner with US Airways Inc as it seeks to take advantage of demand for low costs flights in the US.

The airline plans to hold talks next week to decide whether to buy 35 Boeing Co 737 or Airbus SAS A320-family aircraft. It's also holding talks with Bombardier Inc and Empresa Brasileira de Aeronautica SA about buying 20 regional jets.

"We shouldn't have any problems in now getting the airline launched" by early next year at the latest, Branson said. The Virgin Group will invest between US$50 million and US$250 million in the carrier and will own 49 percent.

"US Airways may sell off part of their assets, and they may sell it off in part cash and shares in a new company," Branson told journalists. "If they were to do that, they might decide to do something with Virgin USA."

Hang on guys!
:D i'll happily be VirginUSA...just get rid of Siegel and his LOSSER MGMT team....hello Richard Branson
