PHL-SLC stopped before it was started. I also believe CLT-SLC service is cut back to 3/4 days instead of Daily.

The flights were predicated on using direct operating costs alone and with fuel as high as it is the flight must be able to generate strong revenue, even if it uses a plane that would otherwise sit for the night.
Further there is no appetite to elicit a strong competitive response.

At best only half true. The PHL-SLC flight was in the evening and they had better have planned on covering the full cost before announcing it.
