Can you explain the Article 12 attachment A?
Article 12 Attachment A is a rather long confusing to read letter in the contract.(like anything is easy to understand in our contract.) But here is a link to it in PDF format the letter is on page 46
Local 510 twuatd contract
We had no former TWA employees on the premises. They do retain recall rights back here, but whenever there is a system surplus the f/t vacancy(s) will be filled by the most senior qualified employee(s) requesting to fill such a vacancy. Either f/t or p/t provided they are senior to the most senior employee holding recall rights to that full time classification. Are twa people had a seniority date of 4/10/01.
Basicly what went down here in Phoenix is we where able to recall all 11 of our people that bumped to p/t plus upgrade 5 people of the p/t list. Effectively keeping out the twa people.
It's all very confusing how the union & company complete this process. All I can recommend is to read the contract
and make sure that all the p/t time employees who want f/t have an active 12(lx) transfer on file when the RIF is being done.
This is a one shot deal at getting has many of your own people upgraded without bring in twa, provided they are senior to that twa employee holding recall. Once the RIF is over the opening will be filled by a person holding recall rights.
Phoenix is a very senior station are last P/T has 89 seniority, so even if a twa employee was to get 25% they would all still be at bottom of the seniority list here. We also have twa people on the recall list to F/T that have never worked 1-day with AA.
BTW, which city/station are you headed? FT or PT? I wonder why LAS isn't on that city list? Hmmmm.....
I'm staying in Phoenix. (for now)
LAS was not on the list because there where no openings when the RIF was started.
Hope this helps, we where very fortunate here that are station manager & union chairman fought to save has many jobs has they could it was a long 2 month process. We are still thinly manned, 3-man line crews back to back trips it's going to be a long hot summer.
