Whether it be public or private employees, cuts have been made and will continue to be made.
.
I hear (read) a lot of frustration here with "the system" that is out "to screw" the little guy while the execs/leaders manage to walk away unharmed.
.
So, the question, then, is what do YOU do to change the system?
.
And specifically, what do YOU accomplish at AA if you shut the company down for its "greed?"
.
Do you really think you will make any kind of change in the economic system? Do you not think there will be other airlines that won't swoop in and take AA's business? After all, they have cut capacity so still have more than enough resources AND employees of their own to do what AA has done.
.
What do YOU really gain by sinking the company REGARDLESS of how they got into this situation?
.
Think it thru and let me know. .. I have yet to hear a viable explanation as to what will really be accomplished.... or how it will really stop million dollar showers, executive pay raises etc... the stuff which you argue - perhaps rightfully is wrong - but somehow you can't seem to articulate how your internet writing campaign against them and your apparent willingness to shut AA down will change any of that.

There's not much you can do when the government, namely the GOP is against the working person getting any gains whatsoever. We all saw what the governors of Wisconsin, Illinois, New Jersey did to the unions in those states. It was cheered by the GOP as a rallying cry to further erode worker rights.

The same party that God forbid adds a fraction of one percent to the rich's tax bill, blames all federal, state and local government economic woes on public unions.
Amazing how the leaders of these governement entities get away unscathed with regards to their compensation and benefits.
This is class warfare, WT..Plain and simple..

They would like to see everyone who doesnt wear a suit and tie and have a degree earn minimum wage so their stocks and other investments can skyrocket.
Yet they want to see lowlife workers buy the homes and cars that drive this economy all on a low wage WalMart salary while they shop at Tiffany's and Neiman Marcus.
The GOP has been preaching to get rid of regulation to let businesses grow, but yet they want to pass legislation banning public unions.

Bunch of hypocrites!

Will come?! Dude, it's here.

Get ready.
Get ready for what? Those in power know we don't like what's going on AND they know there's not much we'll do.

There might be a speech, but that' s about all.

Were the atmosphere considerably different in that the elite truly believed they may not get to enjoy their ill-gotten gains, things might change.

We don't do things like that, however, because we're "civilized".

I heard it referred to as class genocide the other day... Seemed much more appropriate.

Good analogy!

With the ‘Globalization’ paradigm, blue color workers across the world will be equalized to the lowest common denominator (lowest paid). To compete with workers in other countries, we have to lower the US living of standard. Politicians always quote how much of a good thing ‘Globalization’ is for the world, but not so much for US workers. ‘The Executive/CEO’ class is untouchable as they receive wage increases regardless of the profitability of the company.

Crazy A$$ Bachmann would like to eliminate minimum wage to spur job growth.
Republican presidential candidate Michele Bachmann said she would stoke U.S. economic growth by cutting taxes on corporate income and capital gains and considering elimination of the minimum wage.

Funny, but many blue color workers will still vote for this Crazy woman.
Our political system is broken as Republicarts and Democans screw us daily.

IMHO,

Sad but true. 🙁

Honestly, nothing will change besides taking more concessions. But, WE are a bunch of disgruntled and demoralized employees of a company that shows absolutely NO RESPECT and APPRECIATION for the contributions WE provided the company for the last 8 years. That's it!

What I will do is create chaos for management. I will ensure that management feels the rath of customer complaints through delays and cancellations. I will make sure that the phones ring off the hook. And in the end, I will do my best to make sure the greedy bastards feel MY pain......that's for sure!!!

and if EVERY airline worker felt the same way, then perhaps something would change.... but the reality is that there are many airline workers who are doing their jobs and have no intention of damaging their companies, and I might add that is also true of a whole lot of AA employees.
.
The US is a democracy... if people want change, it can happen. The problem is that the US is a very ideologically divided country... the whole reason why all those Republican governors were able to do what they have done is because half or more of the population in those states support what they did - or those legislators and governors would be canned.
.
WI was by far the most heated battle but even there the balance of power in the state still rests w/ the same party that supported the cuts.
If there are enough Americans who want to change things, it can happen.
.
If there are enough airline employees who want to change things, change could happen.... but when not even a known size faction of AA employees is determined to extract blood, they could well succeed at shutting down the company against the desires and efforts of alot of their co-workers. But more significantly, there is no evidence that what that faction wants to do to AA is even close to supported by the majority of airline employees.
As such, the potential actions of a few need to be weighed in light of the reality that those people may become martyrs for their cause only in their minds.

After AA goes the way of PAA and Eastern the "Cancer" or us spread to the remaining airlines and preach the same mantra we are preaching at AA more people are infected with the "cancer" and we kill off another airline riddled with corporate greed. The way i see it before long we will all be working for Southwest 😀

Look how far sabotaging equipment and facilities got your "brothers and sisters" at the UAW. Many employees here are disgruntled because you have unreasonable expectations of the company. Ultimately AMR will win over further concessions, it's only a matter of time.

Josh

Josh

Sabotaging equipment and facilities?
No one said that, so don't spread that lie.
I will do my job to the degree where delays will be more frequent and possibly cancellations as well. I, as thousands of other AA employees will do, will do my darndest to make sure the customer experience at AA will remain lower than whale sh**!
This way, the stock will remain lower than whale sh**t!
Since the pro company defenders here like to say that part of the poor executives compensation is in AA stock...Then keeping it as low as possible is my way of thanking the greedy-better-than-the low-life workers arrogant management staff we have at AA!

Maybe in your world of spening life on your knees under a desk clawing and scheming and conniving for that next promotion is how you think, not us.
Employees gave the company BILLIONS since 2003 and they still want more. They will not get more without with employees making sure AA stays in the toilet.

And then people like you can jump up and down yelling YAH YAH YAH YA YA,,THE UNIONS GOT SCREWED...NAH NAH NAH NAH NAH.,,,,,
