30 job offers today alone.

AA has been offering premium pay all month on 737 and 777. Something tells me that their staffing woes will continue.

All good news to the bottom 400 on the seniority list and the guys on the furlough list...

And assuming that the DB plan gets terminated, it won't help them a bit that I can see. Unless AA voluntarily pays them their pension.

Glad to see that some Pilots are publicly expressing concern regarding outsourced maintenance.
If I were them, I would be very concerned also.

Mr. Lister is correct when he says the public is unaware.

If our Union would spend their time and money correcting that instead of playing politics and building websites as petitions, we would begin to reverse the destruction of domestic maintenance operations.

TWU and the AFL-CIO could make a difference if they would focus on a public campaign against foreign maintenance.
Nothing better than recruiting the guy/gal flying the aircraft to help get the message out into the publics eyes and minds.

Dave well said, there is no valuable campaign to expose American Airlines and promote our professions

Like I said in a different thread, The flying public doesn't care where planes are maintained. If they did they would have stopped flying those airlines a long time ago.

Has there been some sort of poll of the "flying public" that you base this opinion on?

Maybe the issue of where maintenance is done has not even been properly communicated to the public, so you just assume they don't care!
Why doesn't the TWU the IAM the AMFA the AFL-CIO the Transportation Trades all spend as much money on television/internet advertisement as they will spend on back stabbing politicians this year, and then we can confirm or dismiss your claim?

TV ads can obvioulsy be made to sway public opinion. My bet this is an issue that based on Job Creation, Safety, and Security, if the Union was really representing my interest instead of the interest of the Democratic National Party, the public would begin to care and take note of this issue.

Unofficially. It's called "Do passengers buy tickets on carriers that outsource maintenance?"

The results show that most passengers buy tickets from whoever is $5 cheaper until something bad happens, then they blame the government for letting it happen (and sue the aircraft manufacturer and whoever else has deep pockets).

Heck, look at airline employees. How many get on their airline's planes to non-rev without a thought about where maintenance is done?

I find it funny he is worried about maintenance being done in foreign countries and yet he is willing to go to work for an airline in China!

on point again dave, there has not been any real push to expose the airlines and it still baffles me that the several unions representing airline workers have not joined forces and resources to fight from a position of strength instead of letting us fall one by one.

Chuck, they are too busy hobbing the knob of Democratic National Committee and still believe that strategy will somehow correct this.

Just look at what airlines the public is flying on. If they cared about planes being maintained (overhauled) in China, then United (for example) would have empty planes. AA's plane's would be standing room only.

Again, has any campaign been waged to inform and sway the public? NO
Then how can anyone claim it doesn't matter?
If they do not know, then sure they do not care!
But what if they knew? easy
