Are you implying that the past USA Management (read Jerry Glass) was willing to be more generous? There is always a give and take in negotiations…if they were willing to give more, where was the take going to come from?! Are you willing to share that?

While I agree that negotiations are indeed "give and take", this negotiation needs to be more "give" than "take". Restoring out pay, benefits and work rules (read:RSV) to livable, competitive wages within the industry involves certain givebacks that we rightly deserve. Am I advocating a pre 9/11 AFA contract? No, I am not unrealistic. Just sounds like you think that for everything mgmt gives us today, we need to give them something back. No dice. That already happened, 3 times to be exact.

I do think that our union negotiation commmittee and union leaders, both LEC and MEC levels, need to focus on the gives, and realize they have a unified group standing behind them willing to do what it takes to receive those gives. Time to get serious, DP. Thank you.
