The rights looking to be passed are for all people, not just gays. It just happens that gays are the ones who will most benefit from it. The laws will allow any same sex people to get married. It does not specify that they must be gay.

What does BDSM have to do with anything? As far as I am aware there are no laws prohibiting it so long as all parties are of consenting age.

Gays are not seeking specific rights. Gays are seeking to eliminate the same sex restriction on marriage contracts to that any two individuals may enter into the contract.

I am curious though. How does chrsitianity explain being gay with out being gay? I mean just because one does not do gay 'acts' does not mean one is not gay. Or is chrstianity just concerned with what a person does and not what a person thinks (serious question). I have seen no evidence that indicates a gay person can be 'cured' any more than you could be cured of being straight. They can suppress their feelings but they will always be gay.

Always be gay? Ever heard of a Try-sexual?
I'm not an expert on Christianity, only my own personal beliefs.
The word of a God of your choosing of a particular religious belief system and your personal commitment to that belief system and your personal acceptance to those tenets is what defines the view regarding homosexuality. The word of the God you adhere to and what is written in that religious belief of His word is basically the law by which you live if you accept those tenets as your way of living.
Personally, to me.......if someone claims to be a Christian or whatever other religion that does not accept homosexuality, I feel they are more or less rationalizing their behavior to themselves.
It all boils down to who or what you accept as law to live your life by or at least attempt to do. I think, at least where I come from, homosexuals are accepted within the fold so to speak, but according to the written word, they should seek a different path. With all that has been said, no one is without sin and that should be remembered and considered.
So who's right?
Believers or non believers?
The book of John mentions about 'all secrets will be revealed when entering the kingdom of heaven' or something to that effect.
So I guess we'll all have to wait for that great day then to find out who is right. 😛
