Question for ya'll

Hi folks,

I'm new to this forum and I'd like to get a question out there. I've been out of aviation for 9 yrs (A&P) working in the medical device field. I miss aviation tremendously, however, I dont think I meet recent experience requirements for employment(?). I used to work for an large engine manufacturer as a Sr mechanic/field service mechanic in experimental development. What are the chances of getting a job in aviation, even in this shi**y climate?
