My ancestors came from northern Europe 50 years after the end of slavery in the US. That's probably true for well over 70% of all whites in the US.
Maybe one of you affirmative action apologists can explain why I've been at such a quota disadvantage since birth for something a very small number of elitists did some 200 years before my ancestors applied for US citizenship? Personally, I have no problem getting a job on my own abilities. I don't need any handicapping to help me along. Ooops. Handicapping is probably a bad word now, too...
More importantly, can one of the apologists explain to me why someone who emmigrated from Kenya, Somolia, Ethiopia, etc. some 150 years
after the end of slavery should get to jump to the head of the line?
My grandparents and great grandparents came steerage and third class, and didn't know what luxury was. My grandfather dug subway tunnels and farmed. My great grandparents were white sharecroppers. We had to work for what we attained. That's the way it was supposed to work in America if I recall.
If questioning why doors are being opened for someone else based only on their race or ethnic background is your definition of racist and bigotry, then sign me up. I'm going to question it until I'm in one of those protected classes I keep hearing about....
How's el chimpo these days??
Funny how it was OK to call Bush a "smirking chimp" whenever it was convenient, but the first reference of a primate to the current president is bigotry...
