it doesnt mean your route on a 50 seater becomes an emb... it means the 50 seat route just gets operated by someone elses 50 seater and the rp embs replace 737 routes... with republics unprofessional employees and no FC. although thats if they fly they cancelled 15 flights today.
if this happens  to doug parker he's just like the rest. if thats the case maybe we should make just as much effort for him as repubics exployees do---none!!!!!!!!!
During July of 2000 US Airways employed 5580 pilots, the bid closing for Aug 2006 show a staffing level of 2480, a reduction of another 27 positions for August 2006.
With the lowest pay scale of any airline we continue to downsize the mainline and outsource more jobs. A first year Captain at LUV makes $42.00 an hour more than a 25 year Captain at LCC, (LUV is profitible, LCC-?)Wages and benefits are not the sole cause of unprofitable companies.
We have express flights out of CLT that run a load factors of over 90% resulting in bags being left behind, oversells with revenue going to other carriers and a customer satisfaction that is in the tank. Business passenger don't want to ride 2 1/2 hours in an Rj any where and arrive without their "stuff". Does Parker understand that we are in a "service" industry and if he does why does he continue to expand he problem by downsizing the mainline and contracting more rj's?
Has anyone noticed that the PAWOB (passengers arriving without bags) figures have disappeared. "If we don't talk about it, it will go away!!!!!!!! The problem is being blamed on PHL but I think that the weight issues with the Rj's is a bigger factor with late bags at all stations. So why do we want more Rj's.
Parker states that the "new" pilot contract must be cost neutral yet he and his boys were the top paid execs of 2005. (ref AIRLINE EXEC PAY this forum). Works for him.
I think we all better step back and look at what is going on with the airline and more importantly with our jobs and benefits or the lack of the same. Our sacrifices haven't secured jobs. Personally, I am very curious about the future of the main line. What are Parker and "consultant" Gerrod Glass really up to????????
