Some, yes. But not all. Actual 2010 and forecast 2011/2012 losses and contributions to the retiree medical fund are:The loss comes from have to prefund their retiree medical & pension funds for the 75 years in a 10 year time span.
2010 -$8.5B $5.5B
2011 -$6.4B $5.5B
2012 -$7.5B $5.6B
Total -$22.4B $16.6B
So as you can see, in three years the USPS would have nearly $6 Billion in losses even if they contributed zero, zilch, nada to the retiree health fund. Since no employees' paychecks have bounced, nobody has foreclosed on facilities, etc, who do you think makes up for those losses?
