Dell,
When I said
What part of that says that I bought anything? I'm not scared of eternity. I just don't care. I don't know what others saw when they looked that the Palin McCain ticket. I saw a man who sold his soul to the RNC and they strong armed him to pick Pali. They strong armed him to suck up to the religious nut jobs, they strong armed him to go back on his convictions about torture. I know when I spoke to many of my republican friends they said the Palin scared them. Scared them in terms of why McCain chose her verses any number of other far more qualified women.
She did not live what she preached. She was a hollow shell. She preaches abstinence yet her and her daughter got knocked up prior to wed lock. She preached international experience becasue she lives near Russia? Really? She spewed sound bites and could not/cannot think on her feet. Palin was installed to appeal to the religious right. She did that because she was just as crazy as they are. What the RNC failed to take into account is that the middle is where the votes are won. There were enough dems who were concerned about Obamas lack of experience that had McCain stayed with who he was in 2000, told the RNC to kiss his ass and chose a good solid VP, McCain would be looking at the WH instead of Obama. I had my doubts about Obama, but McCain sold out. Plain and simple.
If the RNC does not kick religion out of it's core and to the side lines, they are in trouble. A religious zealot put us into Iraq. This country is fed up with religious zealots. Not sure what the RNC stands for but keep religion in the core and see where that gets you. Hopefully, we can get rid of the electoral college and have someone stand in opposition to the Dems because it sure as hell won't be the Repbs.
BTW, I would argue that those who need some reward for being good are the ones who are afraid. I am not afraid of dying. I do not care if this is it or not. I believe those who need the comfort of a here after are the ones who are afraid of it. I know if there is on I will be fine and I don't care if there is not. I have no fear.
If Palin is the face of the republican party, may some mystical/faith based being have the mercy to help us all.
Give me a POTUS who have experience before he took office. W was governor of TX, Clinton of AR, I don't remember what Bush was, Regan was an actor, piss poor Gov and then POTUS, Carter was Gov of GA. You make it sound as if Obamas experience or lack there of is something new.

Obama was not my first choice but McCain's actions with Palin, Fallwell et al, torture, and Bush made my option very clear.
