What's new

REPUBLICANS.........Please-Please-Please,

Dell,

When I said

Obama was not my first choice but McCain's actions with Palin, Fallwell et al, torture, and Bush made my option very clear.

What part of that says that I bought anything? I'm not scared of eternity. I just don't care. I don't know what others saw when they looked that the Palin McCain ticket. I saw a man who sold his soul to the RNC and they strong armed him to pick Pali. They strong armed him to suck up to the religious nut jobs, they strong armed him to go back on his convictions about torture. I know when I spoke to many of my republican friends they said the Palin scared them. Scared them in terms of why McCain chose her verses any number of other far more qualified women.

She did not live what she preached. She was a hollow shell. She preaches abstinence yet her and her daughter got knocked up prior to wed lock. She preached international experience becasue she lives near Russia? Really? She spewed sound bites and could not/cannot think on her feet. Palin was installed to appeal to the religious right. She did that because she was just as crazy as they are. What the RNC failed to take into account is that the middle is where the votes are won. There were enough dems who were concerned about Obamas lack of experience that had McCain stayed with who he was in 2000, told the RNC to kiss his ass and chose a good solid VP, McCain would be looking at the WH instead of Obama. I had my doubts about Obama, but McCain sold out. Plain and simple.

If the RNC does not kick religion out of it's core and to the side lines, they are in trouble. A religious zealot put us into Iraq. This country is fed up with religious zealots. Not sure what the RNC stands for but keep religion in the core and see where that gets you. Hopefully, we can get rid of the electoral college and have someone stand in opposition to the Dems because it sure as hell won't be the Repbs.

BTW, I would argue that those who need some reward for being good are the ones who are afraid. I am not afraid of dying. I do not care if this is it or not. I believe those who need the comfort of a here after are the ones who are afraid of it. I know if there is on I will be fine and I don't care if there is not. I have no fear.

If Palin is the face of the republican party, may some mystical/faith based being have the mercy to help us all.

Give me a POTUS who have experience before he took office. W was governor of TX, Clinton of AR, I don't remember what Bush was, Regan was an actor, piss poor Gov and then POTUS, Carter was Gov of GA. You make it sound as if Obamas experience or lack there of is something new.

What part of that says that I bought anything?

You looked at McCain.....looked.....you due to your political leanings more likely than not you support 'O'.You did....

I'm not scared of eternity. I just don't care.

In due time you could be on both accounts.

Last I noticed...Mac is/was the GOP.....Why did Mac get the nod over what I perceive as better qualified, better for this country candidates such as Huck and Mitt?
Ever occur to you that GOP knows they were heading into the desert ala Bush and were willing to post a no win clown versus a Dem patsy who for the most part won't be able to capitalize and change the course we are encountering now and set themselves up for the next election?

She did not live what she preached.

Cut me a break....Do you? Does Obama?

If the RNC does not kick religion out of it's core and to the side lines, they are in trouble.

Like it or not ,its the core value of the party and the present members are slipping away from the statement...and that is why the party falters.
Your Dem's literally 'Bend' over for issues disregarding God,and sexuality for campaign contributions.

If Palin is the face of the republican party, may some mystical/faith based being have the mercy to help us all.

But then again...on both sides of the aisle we put our faith in 'experienced' old politicians who have and still bring us to our knees. What does it take to realize the populace's failures in government?
This abyss we are now confronted with isn't Dem's or Gop's...its both.....failed policies and agendas of too many old clowns who should have moved on in the interest of our country.
But that's not what its all about, its about control...not the best interest of our country.

dell,
If I didn't know better,.............I'd think that you had taken up "the CRACK PIPE", with your preaching to Cosworth about his "fearing for his ETERNITY"

WHO SAYS...Cosworth is Wrong for his beliefs about (potential) Eternity.

ME, I'm NOT one DAM*ED bit worried about MY Eternity, because I KNOW what the CREATOR expects from me.

Your NOT going to like this one Bit,..But I'm sorry. I find you to be a decent guy, and friends(yes I'm assuming I'm your friend), don't let(or try not to let)..friends continue to be Bamboozled by Horse Shet.

With every new and passing day, it's becoming clearer, and clearer, that................"the Greatest story EVER Told",........is in Actuality,................"The GREATEST Story..EVER...S O L D"

Sorry dell,
But it IS what it IS !!!!

"The GREATEST Story..EVER...S O L D"

Ahh...finally you come to grips with the Obama sales venture.....I knew you'd come around.

Dell,

I looked at both. Obama was/is an unknown. That can be good in some respects and not good in other. McCain has been around the block a few times. He has shown that he had the ability to go up against his own party or the opposition with equal fervor. He had the ability to follow his conscience. Somewhere in 2008 McCain sold out and lost his way. As much as I liked him and thought the pre 2008 McCain would make a good POTUS, the 2008 version was not qualified IMO. I felt/feel that he would have been more of the same old crap we have now and this country cannot handle more of that. When he chose that mental half-wit as his running mate, that just sealed the deal for me and a lot of others.

Were it any other group I might agree with you. When it comes to political parties, I do not believe that they even understand the concept of loosing or giving up. The repubs wanted the WH just as bad in 2008 as they have ever wanted it. Same as the Dems. Unfortunately, the religious whack jobs who control the republican party could not find someone they liked. They despised McCain because he had a free mind and would follow his conscience. Until they broke his will, they would not support him. Even though he was their best hope and he would have made a fine candidate prior to his 2008 metamorphosis. As I said before, till the Repubs kick the religious whack jobs to the side line, and focus on the moderates toward the center (that's where elections are won) the repubs will be out of power for quite some time.

Yes all politicians lie, but for me the ones who tell me how to run my life are the ones that piss me off. In that regard, Palin pissed me off. Don't preach abstinence when you and your daughter cannot even keep your own legs closed.

On that we can agree. It is about power and maintaining their grip on it. The interest of the nation tends to come in dead last. Until we rid our selves of the electoral college and get a true democracy, we will be shackled with the same old crap year in and year out.

Please explain...................why you "RARELY" see Nobamas middle name in print please ?

How often do we see George Bush's middle name in print? The only president who used an initial as a full middle name is Harry S Truman. W isn't a middle name.

Other memorable presidents whose middle name rarely appeared in print - John Kennedy, Gerald Ford, Ronald Reagan.. What were THEY trying to hide?

Southwind reminds me of that character on M.A.S.H. He was a NK pilot who came around on the same day in that old biplane trying to blow up the depot. Flew over dropped his bomb ... missed and few away. Lots of fan fare, everyone gathers to watch but in the end it's the same old act each day.
