i think if we could have lines built with 4 or 5 reserve days a month, then it could really work. you know ahead of time the days you have to commit to, so there wouldn't be any surprises.

iSi! If the company could agree to a fair rotating reserve system, I'd go for it. I have 20 years and could possible go on full reserve in the coming months. So I'd rather know that I am on reserve in March for 5 days and again in July for 5 days.

Great idea! At my previous airline, we had what were called "built-up lines". You had a combo of trips and maybe 5-6 reserve lines a month. It worked very well.

at the last union meeting, we were all saying to propose a system like the one you described allegehnyvista- but mike flores said "it would never go over" so he doesn't even want to bring it up. we were all there telling him "a lot of us want it, bring it up" and he had no interest in it at all. isn't he supposed to be representing ALL of us, or is he in cahoots with carol austin and only worried about the top bh's?

I spoke to the union the other day regarding this issue and they told me that THEY would never go for it. I asked who "they" were and was told the block holders. I said well we (reserves) do. I also came back with the union said "they" would never go for the concessionary paycuts either but "they" did.

The airline industry has forever changed. What if we have a reduction in fleet due to the climbing fuel prices??? 25 year people may end up back on reserve. At least with a rotating reserve, you would not be hit so hard finacially. I hate hearing "I can't do that for a month it would financially kill me". Try doing ti 12 months a year for 9 years!!!!!

The union wants a fair contract that in comparible to other carriers....other carriers have rotating reserve.

The union doesn't ask flight attendants opinions on what "terms" they are negotiating in the contract, so why are they so concerned about this part. They know that rotating reserve is the only fair way to go in this company.

It is up to the union to "sell" it to the membership during their road shows when a T/A is reached.

We are all afraid of change. Explain WHAT it is and people will be more comfortable saying yes to it.

Many f/as make comments about reserves sitting back collecting 73 hours for no reason. Well, here is your chance to experience it if you think it is so great.

Why is Carol Austin negotiating MY life? Does she know what I/we need? NO!!!!!!

If Mike thinks it won't go through, the only way to do it is put out an official survey.....

Would you support rotating reserve?

yes or no

If the majority says NO, then we drop it. If the majority says YES then they MUST come up with a system

it was brought up that we do an official online survey about the issue and he kept going in circles trying to answer without answering the question. at times, our union is our own worst enemy.

Well, if Mike won't listen to us we go to AFA International and speak to Pat Friend. We let Pat know that the union is NOT listening to it's membership and how do we go about getting a survery done that WE want.

The time has come for this issue to be SERIOUSLY looked at. We cannot, as Union Members, continue to remain aloof to the plight of OUR RESERVE F/As. I am not comfortable with Brother and Sister Union Members making poverty wages or working 25 days a month to make a decent income. Additionally, we cannot expect them to be comfortable with the current Reserve System year, after year, after year, after year,.......Reserve F/As are dues paying members of our Union and they pay for representation from our Union Leaders.

I urge Mike Flores, as our leader, to reconsider his position and to seriously consider a ROTATING RESERVE SYSTEM!

How much is this worth to you, in lower pay and benefits?

With all due respect, I'd rather not view this issue from a position of fear. This should be about what is fair. Put a Rotating Reserve System in place and you will see a very resourceful F/A group find ways to adapt financially.

Maybe I'm naive, but why would a Rotating Reserve System have to lessen our benefits?

Mike Flores needs a slap in the face. We'll tell him what we the membership want, not the oposite. Please send emails to him this week both stating you want to see roating reserve on the table, and secondly, that our $39 buys us our own opinion, he works for us.

Yawn, just because there are pages and pages of 89 hires doesn't mean they run the place anymore. The reserves and the HP people are a bigger group, Flores and Corpse Austin can try to swing and soin all they like, but a different generation is in the spotlight this time. Whether they want to cater to them or ignore them, the end-all is always the vote.
