Lets hope there is some truth to this rumor. She is after all the one responsible for the debacle of outsourcing res.

I sure hope she has a seperation package, as she surely deserves one. Just look at the great job she accomplished by outsourcing Res. Just look at all the praise the current outsourced portion of the reservation dept has been getting as of late. Its operated so smoothly its been decided by the higher ups to bring more back "in house". I hope she was included in the retention bonus program the BK Judge rubber stamped for U. Just hated to lose that "crack" talent.

Well if this is true I know several folks who would be willing to help her pack.

There are probably a few hundred more from Greentree in PIT that would be delighted to pitch in.

What a cool publicity stunt idea to bring attention to oursourcing. Have the furloughed CWA members show up to "Help" her move out of her office.

Needless to say I'm not real fond of her and I sincerely hope she is sent packing. Yesterday wouldn't be soon enough.

Hey Kerry, Watch the door sweetie!
AMEN! Enough said.

I hope the rumor is true! She threw many of us under the bus. Created much havoc in many lives. Maybe Doug can stand on the chair, like she did when she closed PIT RES, and tell her she's FIRED! I would love to see her thrown under the bus and run over by the rear wheels. Maybe Tempe is finally seeing the talentless.

In her defense, Kerry actually made several presentations to senior leadership about the pitfalls of outsourcing, with strong recommendations to keep customer service in-house. Just like several other people, she became the scap goat for Donner/Lakefield/Siegal, etc.

"BTW fill me in on this "Standing on a Chair telling everyone you're fired?" statement. This one I never heard but I'd love to now."

I can't speak for bldg 7, but in 8 there was no chair. She stood in the aisle in front of PC. Not that it matters, the message was still the same.

830 lose US Airways jobs

As many had long feared, reservations center in Green Tree loses battle with Winston-Salem

By Dan Fitzpatrick, Jim McKay and Mark Belko, Pittsburgh Post-Gazette

After 34 years, employees heard the news of its closure yesterday from US Airways Vice President Kerry Carstairs, who stood on a chair in a Parkway center building as she explained the decision.

This is actually true -- As is the original post...

Barbell,

With all due respect regarding Kerry Carstairs and her total complete lack of people skills. I would invite you to search the archives of this website and see for yourselves her arrogant self serving ways.

She, along with another US executive had the audacity to try to co-op the reception for the 600+ workers outsourced to some 3rd world banana republic as to make it seem like the event was sponsored by US Airways as opposed to the CWA.

Did you know she through her minions brow beat a security guard to near tears because he allowed 2 escorted FFOCUS members into Greentree to deliver $300.00 worth of candy as a thank you for a job well done?

Did you know that US Airways contributed a USED boom box as a door prize at the reception for the Greentree workers door prizes to honor their loyal service. Just as a point of reference, Nine FFOCUS members contributed nearly $1,000 towards door prizes. What does that say when your customers value your employees more than Kerry Carstairs does??

Company excuse was "We're in BK, our hands are tied" What bull excrement!!!! Their hands weren't tied when they went for the retention bonuses that Kerry and her ilk got now were they?? Just another example of arrogance run amok.

Barbell, she can't be gone soon enough for me. I've met many US Airways employees from Chris Chiames & B Ben Baldanza on down to the F/A I chatted with today and on balance they are great people. IMO the best in the industry

Kerry Carstairs is NOT. Kerry represents, based on my experience the worst of US Airways. She is customer unfriendly, arrogant and lacks the courage to respond to an e-mail taking her to task on her actions. If you desire a copy please PM me. I find no redeeming qualities. To stand on a chair and deliver the kind of news she delivered shows a complete and total lack of class, and demonstrates the arrogance the sirline industry is well known for. There is a way to deliver bad news that allows a person to retain their dignity and self respect. Kerry showed no signs of mastering that basic concept. I will not miss her. Not even a little bit.

Watch the door Kerry, don't let it hit you where the good Lord split you!

Well, by the time she went to Pittsburgh, she had had lots of practice at closing Res Centers: Let's count, shall we? San Diego, Indianapolis, Dayton, Syracuse, Nashville, oh Gosh, so many I can't remember: Except Orlando, since I was there that day. She was nothing more than a pawn on a chess board, and did what she was told to do: Ruin the lives of hundreds of dedicated, hard-working, monitored and timed to the point of being inhuman, employees. If she is in fact leaving the company, you can bet she is leaving with millions; everybody leaves with millions, management with cash, the rest of us with millions of dollars of debt and a kick in the pants. But I'm not bitter, can you not tell?

I heard today (4/14) is her last day.
I heard the new job she took was with PRC, which
is a company for companies to outsource call centers within the states.
Makes you wonder, will the overseas offices close and go to PRC?

Her last day is Today!!!
She is going to work for PRC in FLL... thank god maybee a hurricane will happen along and sweep her away.
Wonder what is to become of her lakee Linda Westman?

PRC has offices off shore, try Manilla, also in India I believe.
I heard she was leaving to become president of the outsourcing company that is currently handling rez calls. Do they call that networking or something else?
