Rumor -- Kerry Trucksteps

While you guys are busy trashing Kerry, she's laughing all the way to the bank with her new Senior VP tittle, raise and all the perks that come with it. And she gets to move back to the east coast with her family.

And for the record, it was not Kerry's idea to close a single res office or to outsource anything, that came down from the top, her job was to make it happen.

PRC is a great company and does airline work for British Airways, ATA, Caribbean sun, Northwest and US Airways. They are also part of the IAC conglomerate owned by Barry Diller, which owns other companies such as Expedia.com and Hotels.com.

I think Kerry has positioned herself quite nicely. So I'm sure she doesn't mind she is being trashed on this thread at all.

So Kerry what would you give in exchange for your soul?

As for you ResRepGirl did I have the pleasure of meeting you at the Holiday Inn that night and for you to tell me "It was all a big misunderstanding" that the security guard got browbeat for allowing FFOCUS to visit? If it was you why were you sooo uncomfortable speaking with me? Could it be you know your actions were wrong? That it should have been your boss lady Kerry making that speech?

She may be making big bucks but I wouldn't pee on her if she was on fire.

Sorry guy, we've never met.

Kerry was liked by most of the rank and file that took the time to get to know her and she had a professional, courteous relationship with the CWA. I know it hard for some to believe that some of the people in charge are intelligent, competent and over all good people, but Kerry was one of those people. Anyway, I just wanted to put in my $.02, since I guarantee I know more on the subject then anyone else here does.

Have a Happy and Safe Easter

Who ever got the opportunity to get to know her in Res? Maybe a select few who didn't make waves. I don't know how it worked in INT but in PIT she visited very infrequently. She met with the supervisors but as far as the rank and file we were lucky to get a wave as she walked by. She held an agent meeting once, the agents were hand picked by management to attend. I couldn't stand Dave Siegal as the CEO but he at least stopped and tried to say hello and say a few words to everyone at the office the day he visited. Kerry walked around with her nose in the air, that's the impression she gave most people.

So your saying your, ahem I mean Kerry's new job, is to "make it happen" at PRC? What idea's did she ever come up with? All she did was every morning on conference calls was to cuss and belittle everyone and hang up in a hissy fit. She's a real professional. (Oh by the way, I guarantee I know how she acted) Hopefully she'll take that no good loser with her (L.W.)

As for "Overall Good People" please square that with browbeating a security guard to tears over FFOCUS delivering $300 worth of candy to say thanks.

Hate to give you the back story, but here goes... local management did not want you on site for the office closing, because the felt this was time for friends and co-workers to say good bye. I know you don't believe this, but 99% the time, agents, supervisors, managers and the CWA basically get along. They like each other, go to funerals and weddings together, know the names of each others kids, etc, etc.

When local management approached Kerry on the best way to handle this, her first remarks was go talk to CWA and see what their thoughts are on the matter. Management and CWA were in agreement, that this was an going to be an emotional day and that having you on site, turning it into the PineyBob show, would probably not be the best idea.

So sorry, it wasn't Kerry that told the guards to turn you away, but the people in PIT RES. I wish I had pictures of the guard guys that you felt so brow beaten over.

I'll give you this, you can spin a good spin, but when you know the whole story, it just doesn't ring true.

Anyway, I can see where this is going, and sorry I left lurk mode and posted to begin with... feel free to bash her all you want, I'm not replying anymore.

Nice try. You either honestly do not know the whole story or YOU are trying to spin the story.

I was the one who was originally approached and invited by several members of the PIT res staff to come up on our initial visit with the greentree staff. They wanted the members of ffocus to come up and went out their way to make sure we were invited. There were many members of the res team that extended the invitation, approached the CWA leadership and then a formal invitation was made. The US management made it very clear we were not welcome. My only regret was that I could not attend.

It was never the Piney Bob show....from the very beginning.

As another poster here often says.... "try again"

As another of the FFOCUS 9 who helped bid adieu to PIT rez (and was with Bob on the first visit there the month or so before)... let's also state that when CCY found out we were coming, we received a call that morning from someone in management (won't disclose the name... but that person is not in Tempe) saying we'd been "given permission" to be there that afternoon. They were scared of what we might say to the media, which was not our intent. We were there to say thank you and best wishes to these people who were being let go. Too bad no one from CCY has the balls to do half as much... except for the used boom box. Real class.

On contrast, I've spoken to someone in management in RNO res. They are encouraging us to visit... for now, our schedules and their growing pains with the merger have not been able to work out the visit. But, we have started a dialogue there with RNO rez management, and that is more than could be said when CCY was in charge.

As Bob said... none of this is about us, FFOCUS. It's about the workers and the way they take great care of us. I'm not the FFer that Bob, Art and Greg are now... I used to be in my day however and remember what US folks have done for me. If it weren't for some of you when I was flying often 10 years ago, I wouldn't be married to my wife and have a wonderful son. It's things like that which are important in this life... and I'll never forget that.

It's all about the people.

Sounds like someone in management is now posting on here again.

Piney Bob, I was one of the former PitRes employees who personally shook your hand and thanked you for coming to the office. Over the years, USAirways management did not know the word thank you, they knew how to keep swift kicking us in the seat of our pants! I beg to differ with PitResGirl, Kerry Carstairs was pompous, arrogant and ignorant with the employees. On conference calls, supervisors were cursed at and degraded. I did not know one person who liked her except YOU! She may laugh all the way to the bank, but I am a strong believer she will get hers one day. Money cannot buy you health or happiness. When did CWA like her? Congrats to Doug for seeing Kerry at face value. May he continue to use the broom to sweep clean.

Any idea who will be replacing her? Didnt know her and from what I hear I believe I should be glad! But are we going from the frying pan into the fire? Please post the her replacement if you know. Thanx.
