late word from CLT is mechanic base staffing in the 200 area......737 work moving there......rising tide of anti-proposal sentiment....
boys in PHL see the surfs up and they're jumping on the anti-proposal tidal wave....
finally the boys in PIT don't trust the company and are fear'n they'll come back later this summer....
boys and girls theres a great movement toward a no vote all of the sudden and its spreading like wildfire......

A leopord cannnot change its' spots, and the preditory history of US Airways management is about to kill the company.

Vote yes, and you'll give the company an opportunity to ask for relief from the very things you voted yes for, and then they'll come back for even more. (And give them a good laugh, to boot).

Matter of fact, union reps didn't even have briefings, just had stewards pass out the proposal !!!! What a LAUGH!!!!

Only strike you'll see around here will be at the bowling alley.

A320 Driver

I agree 320 and the vote will pass ! Dell is in strong denial

I actually thing theres a strong tide rising from the majority of all employees, to zip the negatives from yours truely above and others like him.....I think people are tired of those who stay here and complain, as if they have no choice to move on........get a grip DUDE

Yeah, we heard this first from the pilots, then from the agents, then from the flight attendants... And they each passed their agreements by a comfortable margin.

Thing is, most people say one thing at work to blow hards like yourself DDude, and then vote another way in private. And when it comes down to it. Those that know they will be able to remain will most likely vote yes, and even some of those that will be layed off will vote yes as they would rather get unemplyment with a sick bank cash out, and travel bennies to use than to join you in your so called "war" and have nothing but IAM strike pay.

It is not a hard choice. Something is always better than nothing.

Why do you possibly think any employee here or elsewhere would be negative ?
Oh you wouldn't know you are so far up their ............well you know where.

No negative is the wrong word in this case, the term should be self absorbed. In which the needs of the one (or few) outweigh the needs of the many (in the minds of the self absorbed)

34000 is a lot more people, than the few disgruntled people on here that would rather burn the house down.

What makes you think Dell is wrong? Are you in direct contact with the mechanics in Pit, Clt and Phl? Do you have any idea what their mind set is?

Personally I thought if the severence package was descent the proposal (I didnt say T/A) would pass but after seeing what the company's offering in terms of severence Im starting to have my doubts.

Yeah, but in comparison to no job, no severence, and no benefits if this does not pass, the package looks pretty good. And that is the point

This is where the disconnect really lies. I believe, having spoken to a number of mechs over the holidays in/around PIT that the "no job" thing for a mechanic (especially in light of the current proposed payrates at U) is a non-starter. Unlike the pilot group, they can replace their income without years of waiting.

That, and let's be real: 44% or so are going to vote no, since they will lose their jobs regardless of the outcome of the vote. That leaves 56% to make the decision. Of those, how many will be displaced, lose income, etc.

All the other workgroups can continue to beat the mantra of "a job is better than no job," and for pilots, that's probably true. It's not necessarily that way for the mechanics.

This series of facts has some people who frequent this board (mostly pilots) all but wetting themselves, but it really is outside your control now. Sit back, relax, have a beer.

I agree clue, Its not as bad as it was 3 years ago. I think if there is a no vote and the company imposes whats in the offer, they wont be able to hire any mechs worth a damn.
